Game Fried My RAM Twice
When this game came out before the new year I started playing it and within days one of my RAM sticks burnt out. I've had this computer since 2019 and gamed and worked on it THOUSANDS of hours running it full speed for 12 hours at a time, zero issues. I replaced the RAM and computer was back to normal. Fast forward to now I start playing this game again regularly and the NEW set of RAM is cooked again.

This is a known issue where the game uses way too much RAM to where they patched it so it would use less, but I guess it's still running it at 100% all the time. This game is a total mess. If this happened to me, it has happened to other people. I suggest you stop playing like I am before it seriously damages your PC.

I have submitted to them a support ticket as at this point I feel they OWN me a new set of RAM since this is 100% caused by their game. This is the only game I have been playing on this computer, and I browse the internet. Brand new ram, totally cooked, game just crashes every 5 minutes now.

Would like to hear if anyone is having crashes, I would wager you also have RAM that has been damaged by this game.

I got crashes every couple of games. I tried a bunch of the recommendations and nothing worked. I decided to get more RAM and I've not had a problem with crashes since. There's definitely a problem with memory in this game.

Need more details about your cpu and its cooler(are you sure that you have removed the cooler plastic cover),mb, case and fans, rams. Or can you post a picture of your components working temperatures under stress.

Yes, they had an official patch about the high RAM requirements as people were complaining 16 gigs wasn't enough. I have 32 gigs.

I built this PC in 2019 and used it for gaming and work for 5 years with no issues. I installed this game when it launched last year and within a few hours started having those hard crashes. Swapped out a RAM stick and saw the problems stop. Now it's doing the same thing, of course I know what the problem is it cooked my RAM again!

My CPU runs at 60c under load and my GPU goes between 55c to 60c. I've been building computers for 20 years I watch my temps at all times.

I believe these problems are coming from their anti cheat software. Any kind of DRM or anti cheap puts extra stress on your computer.

Don't know what clown farming is but if you're defending this huge multinational corporation which has already proven to have shady match making, you're the clown. This game clearly has malicious software damaging people's computers which is against Steam's terms of service. But I guess because it's 'Marvel' and a popular game it's OK right? I promise you I'm not the only one affected by this, go else where online and search this issue there are many discussions people having these hard crashes ONLY on this game. It totally cooks computers.
man i noticed updating the nvidia app i get crashes now.

Crashed and got penalized... Imma uninstall until they get their ♥♥♥♥ together or change engine.

Really weird how this caroonish game eats more than 16GB of ram even with the experimental feature enabled.
Running your RAM at or near its limit is not going to 'burn it out,' that's not how it works. Your RAM doesn't become faulty this way. Did you memtest your new RAM in case you got a bad stick?

I routinely, and I mean routinely, run AI training software that uses 100% of my RAM for long periods of time without issue. If your RAM were being overloaded, you wouldn't be able to aim. You'd effectively have 0 fps. This is not the same as using all of your physical RAM -- your computer has a page file that can be used by your OS to allow you to keep playing/working even if you exceed memory requirements.

Are you saying they're specifically targeting your RAM because it's under 32 GB? With what you're saying people with any amount of RAM should be losing sticks left and right.

Either you have no idea what you're talking about or made this the ♥♥♥♥ up. More likely is you want clown awards.

A cursory search for complaints like yours only turned up this very thread, and others only complain of the amount of RAM being used.

whats running 100% of the time?
that's a shame to hear. I just got a new computer myself and if you are saying that the game fries computers.... i think i am going to wait a bit before installing it.
SSD card that is about 1TB in memory should work for you. but to be safe, get an external SSD drive so it doesn't destroy the rest of your computer.
ngl, i dont think it's this game, bub.

There was a problem with, and still is a problem with Nvidia drivers since the 50 series launch, possible cause.

Had the same ♥♥♥♥ happen to me a couple of times, the latest Nvidia drivers seem more stable in this game.

He's full of **it, the game is fine.

The only issue the game has ever had with RAM, was that it liked to use a lot of it, there has never been a problem with the game frying RAM.

Sounds more like the OP has a problem with his PC, most likely a cheap motherboard or power supply.

Its 2025, motherboards are built with protections in mind so this stuff does not happen. Even if it were to happen, no game is going to be the cause of it. A hardware defect might be the cause, poor cooling might be a cause, playing a video game is not a cause.

Thats not how hardware works.
