Whats with the influx of peoples censored names?

If so, that's the new antiscouting feature. Names are obfuscated before the match starts. Once game action gets going, the names are unscrambled and you can see who you're dealing with.

The intention is to help crack down on scouting, but the actual effect is that cheaters using certain 3rd party tools now have more of an advantage during pre-fight ban picks.

YOu should research before you make ridiculous claims.
ITs a feature they implemented that you can use to avoid your name being seen for the fisrt minutes so you cant get targeret ban. After that your nick is displayed.

You can hide your name in the settings so in the beginning people can't target ban you (3rd party programs still are used though to see people's most used characters) and when you interact with the opposing team that's when your name gets revealed.
