It's not EOMM that is the problem
I see everyone blaming EOMM and doing this quit in match nonsense.

It's not the other team that is the problem. If you have someone selfish on your team, you probably won't win or it'll be very hard to. You keep getting a selfish player every other match because there are sooooo many of them. Get rid of selfish players = better matchmaking.

Solo que allows all the little kiddies and idiots to be on your team. Even with a few wins, eventually you get a Strategist that refuses to heal. There are a ton of them now.

Only way to fix is wipe all stats, add a role que, and have penalties for selfish players.

It is basically true that it's less about which team has the best player as which team has the worst player, at least at lower ranks.

However, the rank reset has only made this worse, as it's now quite common that the "worst player" will basically just be someone who actually belongs at the rank they're currently at.

I think the people complaining are the selfish players.

I definitely agree that most of the people complaining about EOMM are likely simply bad. If you're a bad one-trick, your matches are going to seem very random and arbitrary since your ability to contribute relies on whether or not the enemy team has any of your counters. You will also often force players to flex onto other roles / heroes to try to support you, which may result in them playing worse.

Everyone complaining is the problem, they aren't as good as they think they are.

I think if we did a full reset on stats and ranks, and has a role que and penalties for idiots who don't play the role they select, with the new change for personal performance, THEN, matchmaking might be A LOT better.

I block anyone who complains about something that didn't actually happen lol. Working as a team is fun. It's a really fun game. Idk why so many are so bitter.

Glad everyone here who left comments seems sane lol

I thought you were trolling but I largely agree. EOMM is still a problem and a massive failure, but it's in the nature of these types of team games that even one bad teammate can completely sink you. It's happened in every MOBA and team shooter ever, and you are also right that the solution is to really focus on punishing people for not playing their proper roles.

It's extremely hard to try and determine bad play from throwing, and players can't be punished for bad play, but with matchmaking and A.I. and all the rest of the tools, it really shouldn't be hard to monitor players of vastly different skill levels, including smurfs, and sort them out at least in a general way. If you have kids that score terribly, consistently lose, and don't know what they're doing, who SHOULD be low-level, matchmake them away from better players and put them in their own lower-level games.

Like why is it so hard that we have to talk about solutions here on the forums when the stupid devs should be the ones fixing it? What you're talking about is basic matchmaking that any game should have lol.

I've never played a massive online pvp game where people don't blame the matchmaking. The concept of ELO hell has existed since the early 00's. In each and every one, time and time again, there's always been pros who have been able to win with near 100% winrate on their way up to the upper echelons.

The people who genuinely think they are doing good by "taking down communist evil EOMM" are just looking for something to blame for their own poor performance*. They represent the laziest portion of the competitive pool. This game is filled with veterans of the genre and realistically you have to put a lot of work if you're coming in from zero. You can't just turn on your computer and waltz through the simulated forest in a PvP game. It requires concerted effort to win.

It's a lot easier to accept that matchmaking 'may be' ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ than it is to accept the fact that you're going to have to do a lot more losing than winning before you get "good".

*There's also subsection of EoMM cultists that appear to actively preach false ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the game because they are stans of Overwatch and/or anti-China.

Every game has some variation of this problem because it's extremely hard to solve. Everything NetEase wrote about OptMatch and EnMatch is intended to make this better and it's still not enough.

It's just not easy to get random people to work well together as a team. There's a reason pro sports teams (and esports teams) have coaches and need a lot of practice to play well.

Dropping everyone a full three ranks was overkill, even if you factor in the lack of reset at S1.5

Make it 6 divisions at most to make up for the 1.5 non-reset and do 3 divisions after every season. Someone who was Grandmaster 3 last season playing with and against completely new players in Bronze 3 is uncalled for. The fact that Bronze-Gold even play together is absurd, but this reset now matches Bronze-Grandmaster together, which is A MILLION times worse!
