How is Ultron A Strategist?
I'm not huge on Marvel as a whole, but I watched age of Ultron once, and know the guy is a supervillain. That seems to continue into Marvel Rivals with the Season 2 trailer, so I can't help but wonder...

How is this guy supposed to be a Strategist? A role that is dedicated to healing teammates and using abilities to keep everyone alive is now being crashed by someone who wants world extermination? How is this even going to work?

Yeah, it doesnt make a lot of sense for a villian to have healing abilities. He should have been a Vanguard. Im still excited to play him since I mostly play Support. 😎

well, Loki is a supervillain too, but he's a strategist.

Well, there will probably be an explanation to that. I can only guess that he is going to be reprogrammed or something during the story events of S2 and will become a support hero instead of an antagonist.

It's all just part of his master plan to take over the multiverse by controlling superheros with "healing" nano-machines.

How is a squirrel able to kill a superhero? How is Iron Fist able to punch through titanium?

It's a game. This is why. Stop overthinking. This is all fantasy.

Healing can take on many forms. It can be damage repair, damage prevention, or simply enabling a fighter to continue fighting without repair or prevention (most often drug-induced but mind control's not out of the realm of comic-book reason). Maybe the Encephalo-beam just keeps his teammates going the third way? That'd be pretty suitable.

Never, EVER underestimate squirrels. They are the true rulers of this universe.

He was originally built to be a hero before he rebelled against humanity.

He seems to have pretty high offense for a strategist, similar to Adam Warlock, so it kind of makes sense.

i think it's kind of an enemy of my enemy sort of situation lore-wise, but from a character pov he is perfect for support

I would argue that he'd be better as a tank. His durability is just as defining a trait as the Encephalo-beam.

I'm interested to see how much of the mind control made it into his kit though.

Ultron is a waste, give me Blade

I believe in the avengers movies he was piss weak and was only strong with the support of his clones of himself.

They would kill him instantly, but he would just come back to life with a new body. So, if anything, it makes sense.

he wasn't weak per say, just the avengers were strong(also i could see his fodder drones being made of lesser material)

Because Warmachine will be the IronMan like Vanguard. Its pretty clear taking that into account that they want one ironman like character for each role. Warmachine makes the most sense as a tank, Iron man makes the most sense as the DPS, and Ultron thus with his more unique skill set makes sense as a support.

I guess this will be the ultron from "what if..." season 3.
