Those balance changes are awful.
Several strategists gutted for no reason (like, why Mantis? Why Rocket?)

No nerfs to Spider-Man

Nuking the tanks people actually want to use.

No one got "gutted". You're just being over dramatic because it's a new change. Hope this helps

he is right though every popular other than spiderman has been given gutting changes
25 hp is a huge loss to mantis. It means she dies to every popular flanker instakill combo instead of living.
Where are you seeing these changes?

Frontpage of steam page news item.

Rocket and Mantis are two of the best characters in the game, that's probably why. I haven't seen their changes yet so I gotta check it out ( I'm a Rocket main ).

Spiderman on the other hand is not a top tier character. He's just above mid at best when it comes to high ranked win rate. So he's low priority at best.
They gutted the hell out of Rocket in completely unexpected ways. It sucks.

If you buff enough heroes without buffing Spiderman, it's pretty much a Spiderman nerf.
Yeah but they nerfed the survivability of four strategists. It's effectively a spider-man buff. Like, a large buff.
There's a lot to unpack here, but neither the changes to Rocket or Mantis are straight nerfs, they're both sidegrades. Mantis being able to stack her damage boost is actually kinda big. I will virtually always double stack a Spiderman prior to engagement now (since the orbs will probably be back before I need them).

Rocket's ult now giving bonus health is also a big deal for sure, though he may lose some key breakpoints with the reduced damage boost. For example, Monstro with 25% damage boost is now only 250 damage, so it no longer one shots 275 hp heroes without Mantis damage boost as well. As for the change to heal balls, we'll need to see that in practice to see if the total healing is higher or lower. Jet dash nerf kinda sucks, but it's not that big.

I also like most of the duelist and vanguard changes.

25 HP is a huge deal to Mantis though, as it means she's now flanker bait. I find any 250 hp strat unplayable except Rocket because they all die in any flanker combo, which means Spider-Man will pretty much ruin you.

Keep in mind Mantis has effectively 275 health because of her heal over time effect (Spiderman's combo takes about 2 seconds). It still makes the breakpoint a lot scarier, but she should still usually survive with any heal from the other strategist. Incidentally, with Rocket now having a burst heal on his orbs he's now much better at saving his other strategist than he was before.

Besides, Mantis is literally #1 in terms of win rate at high rank, if she has to take a slight L it's probably fine. The Adam Warlock teamup with her and Starlord is clearly still really good (and it also gives you an anti-dive option since you can just rez).

Incidentally, the real problem is Jeff. No buffs, and the loss of Namor from the Luna team-up is an indirect nerf, as people will not be running this teamup as often (though maybe this means Luna gets banned slightly less?). I still can't believe he didn't get a healing buff or something, I still really think he needs 2 more seconds of buff time on his bubbles.

I am really dislike Rocket's nerf to mobility, but I need to try the changes first... Maybe it'll work out... but to be honest, I am disappointed with what they did to him. 100/150 bonus health for 25% damage from 40% doesn't feel fair, but again - Rocket is my main, so I might be biased.

now why did they do adam like that
It feels like even if Rocket doesn't suck after this they nerfed the hell out of his uniqueness.
