You got bots if you lose too much, you'll know if they're bots.
There are teams that barely make it out of spawn. You've got tanks diving 1v6 to feed the enemy. DPS players who will hit everything on the map before they hit a support. Then there's people who simply do not play support no matter how poorly they do.
I've definitely seen smurfs, but even then I don't think a smurf could carry some of these teams that matchmaking sets up. It makes even winning feel kind of bland.
Still happens in Diamond. I don't think this game is skill based at all you get matched with anybody
In general, stompy matches do happen somewhat more often at lower elo because of matchup dynamics not being well understood at those levels. For example, if you're playing melee heroes into a bunch of fliers, you're going to get stomped. This stomp can easily be prevented by just swapping your DPS characters out.
