Mute all chat option
I know you can turn it off by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C. But I wish there was a menu toggle to just keep it off or auto mute anyone not in a party like other games.

Go to settings, social, then chat. Turn off team messages and event messages.
If that doesn't work turn on streamer mode in social and then turn on "content protection".

Does event messages affect the pings? Like healing, go here, group up?

I think devs expect you to use discord or similar 3rd party VoIP for party comms. I this that is good. Most games have such poor voice services... That it's just better to use dedicate product

Yeah I guess. I don't always want to see annoying teammates messages is my thing
