How old is too old to play?
For those of you who started recently or have been playing for a long time, do you think it's too late for a new player to jump in? How hard is it to learn now with the current state of the game?

No problem. game have been online for 3 months, no matter how old are you, im 40 old with fybromialgia and got GM the 3 seasons. There is a lot of heros who can fit with your personal features. Try it, its freeeee!

I don't know. Certainly there are players in their 50s. I don't know any older than that for this game specifically but I know successful gamers in their 70s.
Never too late to jump in and start learning. The game has plenty of ways for you to practice a multitude of heros, including an aim simulator in the basement of Practice Range. I would search up role breakdowns online, as each role has subclasses that make them more or less optimal in certain scenarios. Other than that, test out some heros based on what playstyle you like and give it a go!

This game is my first shooter. Started a couple months back and have been slowly learning more as time passes. I love playing Strategists since I can stay away from the pressure of taking out the enemy team and focus on supporting my teammates, but I am still trying to learn some characters from the other roles as well, just in case I need to.

Found it to be pretty easy to jump in and quickly understand the basics of how to play a lot of the characters. They actually do a fairly good job at explaining what abilities actually do, with a video to showcase them for visual preference. Stuff I honestly wish other games would adapt to help new players out.
boomers like my friends love to play captain america and The thing
If you like the game or the game suit your taste age isn't matter.

If you're not familiar with FPS games or fast-paced games, your reflexes might take a little bit to adjust, I know mine did when I first got into them, but no, even that gaming grandma proves you're never too old to start.
Hero shooters are a different breed of games. You have some people who are mechanical legends who are nailing headshots with projectile weapons and mopping the floor with the enemy team. There are those who also dominate lobbies by using a less mechanically demanding hero and playing smart.

Figure out where your strengths and comfort zones are. Ideally, you will have both great game sense and mechanics. However, people typically gravitate to one or the other until you reach the top levels of the game, which is a small fraction of the playerbase.

What ends up holding most people back are actually not their mechanics, but their position, decision-making, cooldown management, and ultimate usage. Metas have arisen in the game that can help people climb, they are by no means mandatory. For context, I'm a GM Cloak and Dagger that doesn't require any aim, even though my mechanics are good. I play C&D because it allows me to do more "smart" things such as ultimate tracking, callouts to teammembers, and generally being a pain to kill for the enemy team.

All that to say is jump into the game and have fun.
There is no such thing as too old to play video games. Gaming isn't an old person or young person thing. It's just a person thing. GG
this is better to get into vs overwatch, marvel is newer and ppl are still learning characters. just play quick play

You have every opportunity to play against bots (with your team being real players) to learn how to play the various roles, it's more than enough to get you started before you jump into playing against full teams of real people.

If your planning on rank.. now is probably the perfect time as the majority in bronze to gold are where they should be (i.e either people who should be in those ranks, or who are completely new to the game).

And if your questioning if your too old in terms of age... i am literally 40, age ain't sh*t.
