This 100%. Comms are used for flaming and whining. VC disabled is the way to go unless you’re playing with a group of friends.

As someone who has done this before, don't do it. If you want to play the game alone, you can set up. Custom matches with bots of various difficulties. You can be reported and penalized for ignoring comms from your teammates, and that includes voice/text chat messages.

If someone is being a jerk, block their chats. You can mute voice chats in the settings and right click a username in text chat to mute them there. Then go report them for abusive language.c

There are really cool people that hype up their teammates in this game and keep morale high.
Great ultimate!
Noce kill!
Thanks for the save!
Keep it up, we got this!
Those are the people you WANT to hear in your game and play with in the future. Don't rob yourself of that because of the toxic jerks, especially when those same toxic jerks will turn around and blame you for their failures.

Uninstalling is an even better option.

Maybe stop doing things to provoke others and you'll stop having a problem..

Your not doing things to provoke them? Oh you are, just to ignorant/selfish to realize it.

In fact that ignorance is like the root cause of provocation

Someone who has never played the game suggest uninstalling the game, go figure.

I turned off voice chat last week and the game has become immensely more enjoyable. I was finally able to climb into GM rank without the added stress of people yelling obscenities into their mic. It’s always the worst players being toxic, they never have anything useful to say.
That's what I always do, don't listen to anyone who is calling you out.
people are nice on here

People are much more likely to be negative or respond to negative inflammatory things rather than positive. I've played enough dota, overwatch and of this game to know this. Muting everyone always helps, until you're at gm+, if not higher, text chat specifically is NEVER positive or constructive, will help you and everyone else.

And being reported for that ♥♥♥♥ ? Why ? And who gives a ♥♥♥♥ ? It is an OPTION that he developers have put in, therefore you aren't "ignoring" anything, you don't know if something is being said, and that clarity 99% of the time is beneficial for everyone. Being reported and punished are very different things, so that argument is stupid.

Yes but in GM rank you are hurting team communication by that. I think I encounter like 1/20 games some toxic guy and then I simply just press P key and mute him, but muting all voice by default you are just silencing those guys who gives some valuable info for example if they are going to ult or push or make calls about some sneaky enemy heroes or which healer gonna ult first if all your supports have ults up, etc, etc.
There are much more reasons to keep voice chat on than disable if you are playing ranked.

Few weeks ago I had this situation, as a healer where I was trying to call our other support that I'm gonna ult first and then is his turn. Yet this guy in couple team fight made defensive ult same time as I did. We lost that game and in the chat it turns out he had voice communication disabled and we literally lost that game because of that. It was close game.

If you really find in every game some toxic guys on voice, I think you have attitude problem and you just don't want to listen your team mates that actually trying to communicate and win the game without insulting anyone. I see quite a lot guys who takes it personally if some guy just say some simple advice when to ultimate or asking for heal in a voice chat, asking to swap heroes or make whatever calls they feel to say about.

I have seen so many games some guy just wanna one trick Spidey against heroes like Namor and Bucky. And when someone calls out that it's not working then these guys gets mad about it and refuse to swap any other heroes. That is just throwing the game.

Comms are super important. I know your pain but sometimes killing someone with kindness in this game will just help you in the long run. Report them and click avoid this person.

The game is suppose to be fun, find a friend or two who you won't argue with and just talk over them with call outs. Best advice i can come up with

if you don't have comms in higher ranks.. well you won't reach those higher ranks.

The voice chat actually becomes gradually worse from Platinum and up. GM and higher have the worst behaviour. They actually sound like wife-beaters and child abusers.
GM and higher players are playing this game and meta cucking to the max, no wonder they're miserable.

In my experience, that is not true at all. The most mad guys are in between gold-platinum.
Guys who think they are diamond-GM players and are desperate to get these ranks. There are also special group between high platinum and low diamond, these guys who get mad about having to play games without banning option.

I’m not reading all of that, but I can promise you I’m not hurting anyone in GM by not using a mic. I’m always the top performing tank or support.

Why wouldn't you read all that?
I'm just telling the benefits of having voice chat on and gave some example.

You not use mic or voice chat? Have you considered to use mic?

I'm not telling you can't play good or perform in game without mic or voice disabled.
You do you.

It might get your team play to next level. There are always bunch of things you can tell to your team. You can tell them if some guy is one shot, you need help on something or like tell team to fall back and regroup if you died and they didn't notice that.

Of course it's your choice to use mic or not, voice or not, but it might make the difference between lose or win in the game.
