should animation canceling be removed?
so for those of you who don't know, there's a lot of characters that can get a increase in dps using certain animation canceling Technics (I believe off the top of my head strange and adam are on this list) and I was wondering what everyone thought about them, personally I feel like it'd be for the best to remove them as for some of them they could cause new players to be confused as to why some heros are dealing more damage when up against them, possible leading to frustration, but I also can see why some people would like to keep them in so I was curious what others thought

If they aren't gonna remove them, they should onboard them better.

Also, stuff like the visual UI for reload being inaccurate is just lame (you get the reload before the visuals say so).
It only really effects top tier play as the addition to the dps is rather minor in most if not all cases. It should stay like any other form of player expression and skill that doesnt have a huge negative impact on gameplay. Your talking about removing rocket jumping from TF2 instead of leaning into it like valve did. Its a mistake to homogenize your games unless the problem your trying to fix has serious implications on the game itself.

? animation cancelling increases movespeed and gives you huge combo potential with most characters, everyone should be doing it

I've seen people doing animation canceling in QP, I personally don't have the hugest issue with it, as you said most the them are minor

but I will say the rocket jump comparison isn't really the same, in that case even if your a new player you still under stand the gist of what happened, regardless on if you know how to replicate it, with animation canceling, you might not even realize its happening if you don't know it exist
I think animation canceling in most games was never intended and is essentially a small exploit. Its super annoying that when im playing cloak that I should be shape shifting instead of reloading since its a little faster. Therefore, I feel like I have to animation cancel to stay competitive. In my humble opinion even though Im doing it, it shouldnt be a part of the skill gap.

Another tech will just pop up that sweaty people will use for a very small advantage. Your gonna have to do the sweaty thing or just accept you dont want to be sweaty and dont care that much
skill issue
the only thing that should be removed is eomm, its not fun nor competitive and after your 300th win you will be bored. and realize ♥♥♥♥ every win is one sided. and every loss is one sided.
as someone who likes spidey i would rather he doesn't lose cancels it makes up over half of his gameplay

Its not like it's a bug / glitch, it's requires a player to precisely use timing on clicking/pressing things , so why should it be removed "? lol
Lol, FPS affect DPS and movement speed, now cancelling animation affects DPS. No wonder people use "third party plug-ins" to reverse engineer this $hit.
All these flaws only encourage people to cheat, so they don't play this game with disadvantage.

And crashes still not fixed, BUT we got two new skins today. 🙄

IMHO all these flaws like game physics tided to FPS or animation have no place in modern PvP gaming, expecially with dedicated servers.

for all intense in purposes it is a glitch, if it was intended they would have made animations for it

only replying to one of these sense I'm seeing multiple but to the people saying this just leave and let the grown up talks, my post isn't in any way angry about the animation canceling and was just looking to have a civil discussion about the topic, I know how to do them myself but I still feel like it will cause frustration to newer players

honestly this would be a good solution if they didn't want to remove them, given I'm not really sure how they could teach anyone these things

How does it not have a huge impact on play? so many characters use it to drastically increase dps, often creating killing combos that you literally can't survive and in much less time than intended. Cap animation cancels to do pretty much 2x damage all the time, that's why he's so good at wrecking backlines, 90% of those guys are using animation cancel to make him do way more damage than he's meant to. If you really think animation cancelling is just some strange little thing that doesn't affect the game then you're very much mistaken. It really needs to be fixed because it takes a hero that is good in a skilled players hands and makes them godlike in that same players hands if they know how to do it.
