I'm confused about why people think there's little LGBTQ representation in the game

First, it's not like we see a lot of characters making any sort of sexual-orientation comments. Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm are married and barely mention anything.

Magik is pansexual, Deadpool is pansexual (and obviously coming at some point, he's worth too much to just leave out), Psylocke is bi, Luna Snow dated a man early in her comic run and is now dating a woman - unclear if she's bi or just coming out - Adam Warlock doesn't actually have a gender so idk how you want to count that, Magneto and Charles have been portrayed at various points to be closeted lovers, Loki is bisexual and also gender fluid, Storm is bi...

I mean, saying there's no LGBTQ representation is pretty dumb. A lot of these "bisexual" characters are only considered to be bisexual because they're almost a century old, and comics in the 1954 to 2001 were tightly controlled by something called the Comics Code Authority that basically hindered Marvel from showing many types of taboo, which homosexuality was considered to be back then. Northstar was the first openly gay character in 1992, and the CCA was already rapidly losing power at that point. He also um... Adopts a baby girl who is revealed to have AIDS and dies by the end of the issue... Marvel doesn't always write with a deft touch. You might be careful who you ask to carry your social issue torch.
