They most likely are legally obligated to censor it. Probably a chinese law. And why would anyone want to constantly mention massacres anyway

What situation ingame are you finna go "HA Tianamen square!"

You know that part in Spider Islands right before the gate?

Just wait until Human Torch is added.

Censoring "1989" 4 digit numbers?

and you cannot type Winnie The Pooh :steamfacepalm:
Chinese company. If they don't sensor stuff they risk getting shut down and imprisoned by ccp. Why would you type that in a game anyway? And you aren't even Chinese I'm assuming, what does it matter to you?

Like i said, its just ccp nonsense. Dont blame the devs, its probably law. If they were a US company they would probably block sep 11 instead

You obviously know what you are talking about, but the issue is thick there. Simply don't play the game if it's about geopolitics. Chinese citizens actually get in trouble for mentioning these things, so these subjects are heavily regulated and banned topics.

“Citizens in China who are caught violating censorship policies, such as seeking or sharing information about sensitive topics like the Tiananmen Square massacre or the treatment of Uyghurs, face significant consequences. The Chinese government employs a combination of surveillance, cyber policing, and legal measures to identify and punish violators. Consequences can range from warnings and fines to detention, interrogation, and even imprisonment. In some cases, individuals may be subject to re-education camps or forced confessions. The government also uses social credit systems to monitor and control behavior, with violations leading to restrictions on travel, employment, and access to services. The severity of punishment depends on the nature of the violation and the individual’s profile. The government argues that these measures are necessary for national security and social harmony, but critics claim they suppress freedom of expression and human rights. The control of information about events like Tiananmen Square and the Uyghur crisis reflects the government’s efforts to maintain political stability and control narratives. However, the human rights implications of these policies continue to be a source of international concern and debate.”

And, sure, the game has international release, but still operates from China, and adheres to Chinese laws.

He also seems to be unaware it doesn't have kernel level anti cheat also. OP seems to really be taking a lot of L's today against China.
really why 1989 is a banned year, i believe absolutely nothing happened back then
好问题,很显然我们都不知道答案。
