Is Thor really bad or am I just bad with him?
I only tried him a few times but I can't think of a single reason to pick him. Even the Mjollnir throw is only kind of fun with that DINK sound.

All i can tell you is to watch how other people play your character, but don't copy what they do. More often than not you'll be watching high ranking players, but the reason they can play like this, is because matches at higher skill level have more structure and low ranking players tend to play more chaotic. If you try play like Rank 1 player without support that they get from their high skilled teams - you'll just die a bunch and be salty about it.

But generaly - i think most characters are playable in casual matches, it's just a matter of which one's you enjoy to play and willing to learn.

Thor is an assassin that can survive the dive. I main him and consistently wipe out the enemy supports in 3 shots with him. His big problem if he absolutely cannot solo tank. In fact, he isnt a tank at all. If you got no other tank, dont pikc thor. Thor is a soloist who hides in the trees and comes out to wtfpwn the healers and dps.

When a normal diver attacks mantis, there is a great possibility mantis 3 shots them while stunning. Even if mantis stuns thor, its not stopping him from melting her and luna. The only support that i feel i can't kill if they are good is rocket since his hitbox is non-existant.
This was very helpful, thank you. I was playing him as a Tank but this works so much better

Only pick Thor as an off-tank when someone else has also picked vanguard. An aggressive Thor and Captain America with decent heals are very nasty.

Thor is an amazing off-tank. Though he can be main Vanguard if theres no others.

His job is to hammer enemies out of position, push tanks and duelists away from their teammates (towards yours), soak up damage (his version of "damage blocked") and harass the enemy backline.

Thor charges into a group of enemies, connecting with a healer. Thor hammers that healer away from team and kills them. Then he can zoom back to his team and protect the weaker teammates and keep it going. Whether he goes for backline enemies, splits them up, carries one away to kill off, or pushes enemies away, he creates situations to capitalize on.

If you see 3 enemies, 2 with half health and one with full, a Thor can kill one of the weaker enemies and carry the strong one away, while the team picks off the remaining enemy.

Just remember, some Strategists don't know the difference between Vanguards and expect you to babysit them the whole match. Don't do this. The enemy team will ALWAYS focus on you more than your healers because you are that capable. Without a Thor on the map, they can do a lot more.

Easiest thing about Thor, and hope you team can capitalize, is that the enemy team will always have multiple enemies go after you. Tanks and melee duelists always, Flyers always. The great thing about this for your team is when this happens, it leaves your team with a player advantage. If Thor is fighting 2-3 enemies and one healer is with him, then that's 4 of you left to take on 3 enemies - your advantage.

Practice your timing with melee attack into hammer throw. You want to charge an enemy, hammer them, drop lightning aoe slow, keep hammer and hammer throwing to kill them.

If you have some range and you see a few enemies clustered together, that is a perfect time for your 3 thor force awakening run and you can KO a couple of them with a few shots.

Don't get too far ahead of your team at the beginning, as if you have no heals, you will die. You want to always be moving. Always looking for the next opportunity. The entire team can follow your lead as you set the pace.
