Is Thor really bad or am I just bad with him?

I only tried him a few times but I can't think of a single reason to pick him. Even the Mjollnir throw is only kind of fun with that DINK sound.

You can look up that player and watch all their replays (assuming that they dont have their profile private). If he's good you can use that to show you what you should be doing on the character if you're lost.

Thor should be diving in the enemy's backline and destroying supports while harassing tanks. Avoid using the "F" as much as possible. Try to use Shift to disrupt your enemies and "E" for increased damage (You should use your E and use the shift to pull the enemy out of the bubble since it damages them).

The maing thing people don't get about thor is that his best skill is his shift and not his F

Thor, like venom and (sometimes) hulk are meant to harass the backline (strategists and longer ranged champions) if you are a solo tank and you dont have confidence your damage can peel for your healers/do enough damage to create space for you TO dive the backline. you probably should play a different tank until those conditions are met. you CAN force it, you will just have a bad time until you get the game sense to do so.

But then, honestly, why wouldn't Cap America be better? Does Thor do more damage?

Thor outputs more damage so he ends up being a higher threat to enemy supports but at the cost of survivability, in my opinion. Not only that, he can isolate other tanks if you use your shift well.

Thor is an assassin that can survive the dive. I main him and consistently wipe out the enemy supports in 3 shots with him. His big problem if he absolutely cannot solo tank. In fact, he isnt a tank at all. If you got no other tank, dont pikc thor. Thor is a soloist who hides in the trees and comes out to wtfpwn the healers and dps.

When a normal diver attacks mantis, there is a great possibility mantis 3 shots them while stunning. Even if mantis stuns thor, its not stopping him from melting her and luna. The only support that i feel i can't kill if they are good is rocket since his hitbox is non-existant.

Learning Thor mechanics, how to position him and in which order you should use ability in any given situation. Then you are doing fine. There are some very good Thor OTP players I have seen and in one game some guy even got target banned Thor because people didn't want to deal with his Thor, lol.

thor is pretty strong especially 1v1. He is a tank but once you activate his dps mode, most squishies cant fight him at all 1v1. He is more like a beefy fighter than a full on tank.
