Why do the devs need to reset Chrono tokens progress?
I just want to know, as a player, what the benefit of resetting my chrono tokens are for? Like if I don't like the current battle pass season cosmetics wouldn't it make more sense to just let me keep the chrono tokens I earned while playing the game? I just want to know why is it necessary to spend the tokens for me or convert it to another currency when you can just easily let it just stay where it is at. I would think that would be easier than having to program a system which auto converts currency for each player at the end of every season. We still would need to purchase said battle pass and the other concern is that what if the Devs change the exchange rates later down the line? Just some concerns I have with the current system in place.

They don't want you to save up and then just buy the whole pass on day 1 ... the idea of the pass is to keep engagement over time ... they need you coming back day after day.

But it doesnt keep me coming back RIGHT NOW.
The battlepass has been 100% complete for days and there is literally no reason to do the dailies.
If we could hoard chronotokens there would be a REASON TO GRIND THEM.

Yep. It helps to stop looking at the chrono tokens as a form of currency, and see them as battlepass xp.

In the vast majority of live service games you dont keep seasonal xp from battlepass to battlepass.

Token are so easy to get, it does not matter.

If the ChronoToken operates basically the same as Battle Pass XP, then they should just call it XP to prevent confusion.

People making fun of you are so gaslit.

There is no good reason for it besides greed, the game doesn't need extra engagement, this genre is gamer-crack. It does suck, basically, but yes it could be worse. I am sad they didn't just copy helldiver's battlepass system, which is objectively the most respectful to the customer system in gaming currently in regards to a battlepass.
Resetting Chrono Tokens has no advantage for players which makes it a 100% ♥♥♥♥ move. It might even disincentivize some people from playing when they finished the pass.

Then don't do them? Are people these days really so brainrotted that their first thought is "I need to finish this battlepass as quickly as possible" instead of just, you know, playing and enjoying the game? I some comments here read as if those people think the battle pass is the core gameplay element. You might not like to hear this but: No, it is not. The game is the core gameplay element. Weird but it's the truth.

It also has no disadvantage so why complain? Do you hate playing the game and just want to have cosmetics to have them?

What greed? You don't need to pay a single cent to play the game and do the dailies/weeklies. The only thing you need to pay for is the premium BP but you would have to pay for that even if the tokens were kept over so you don't pay more in either cases.

How does Helldivers do it?

How ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ delusional do you have to be to think that taking something away from players is not a disadvantage for players?
Happens every game with a battlepass system. Its so that when a new battlepass comes out you can't just instantly buy most of it.

it doesnt make it any less depressing to see your over 2k chronotokens disappear
