Then you know why it exist...
You could do the same thing just buffing/nerfing the hero, though.
Like if you give hawkeye a 20% damage boost one season, then nerf his damage by 20% the next season, it's the exact same as the seasonal boost.
All it does is add another convoluted layer to the balancing. Unless the only balance changes they'll be making ARE these seasonal boosts.
Like they'll probably have to buff Hulk's health pool once the seasonal boost goes away. What's the point in doing that vs just not having seasonal boosts?
They will prob do both? I guess it will add some variety between seasons if they get some unique boosts. Not strictly a fan of the damage ones but the new abilities could be interesting.
If they make the seasonal boosts more unique than just flat damage and health boosts, then yea, totally fine with them.
Right now it just seems like a lot of stuff that should either be part of the hero at a base level (hulk, groot) or things that are making certain heroes overtuned (hela, hawkeye).
