Scroll down to the bottom of the first section and click advanced and set ping wheel delay to 100
I already had it at 100, it doesn't do anything, it still sends those wheel menu commands when i simply just try to click the button, and i don't even see the wheel menu while it does this thing, so this definitely looks like a bug.
I have even turned the Enemy ping hit scan size to 100/100, and Ally hit scan size to 0/100 and objective hit scan size to 0/100 and yet it still pings my allies or the wall behind the enemy or the ground or my character will send a "I CAN HEAL" message to the chat or "MY **** ABILITY IS 98% READY" or anything else, but almost never ping the enemy.
They could fix this by creating dedicated button for pinging the enemy and if it doesn't scan an enemy then that button would simply do nothing instead of sending these wrong pings or messages to just confuse everyone.
If they want to fine tune the ping system, then they should also add "cool down" option for it so i can use my scroll wheel up/down to ping the enemy without sending 3-5 pings with one scroll, this cool down period would simply put input limit for the key so it cant be spammed more than 1 time per second or something.
Even CoD has managed to do this perfectly, only problem with CoD is that aerials like UAV:s sometimes don't get properly pinged, like there would be something invisible blocking the line of sight.
Best ping system out of all is definitely in Apex Legends. They understand how important it is.
Yes!! Ok, so i am not the only one then! If they fix this ping issue then i personally have nothing else to complain about this game and i will go and turn my negative review to positive because this game is such a gem overall.
Doctor Stranges teleport in my line of sight almost crashes my pc or just lowers my fps from 150-200fps down to 30-40fps, i always have to look away from it, but i'm 100% sure they will patch this very soon.
- its free
- all 33 characters immediately unlocked, no grinding needed
- gameplay is interesting and fun because characters are unbalanced by design (and in higher ranks people can just ban characters so its fair for both casual play and comp play)
- competitive ceiling is extremely high because of the vast amount of characters and abilities and synergies
- you don't need to buy battle pass, but if you do then its only 5 euros and you have infinite time to finish it and it give you a lot of currency if you finish it
- no invasive third party accounts or launchers required
- when launching the game, they are not even advertising any skins with annoying pop ups, like other free to play games do
- looks good even on lowest settings
- easy 200fps even on older builds
- 1/4 of the maps are destructible
- instant matchmaking
- game is fun even on high ping so you can play with friends over seas
- already +20 million players and reviews are overwhelmingly positive
A great update to the game would be to have a communication like "caution here" put it actually pings the enemy. If it doesn't recognize the enemy, it'll do nothing. Then I can spam it until it picks up the enemy and alerts the team.
As a workaround if anyone else if struggling with this, I've changed what I usually use as my ping button to specifically use "caution here" and nothing else. It wont ping the enemy, but its better than a mantis running round screaming I CAN HEAL while spiderman is right up my ass.
Great comment. I also tried the "caution here" method, but ended up giving up on this game until this issue is fixed, this is such a minor error in UI development, moving the mouse while pinging opens up a command menu, and while we track the enemy while pinging, well, we know what happens then "I CAN HEAL!" "I CAN HEAL!" "You are giving too many commands"
I recommend every one of you to make a negative review, and state this specific issue as being the reason for the negative review, that is the only way to make the right people notice and finally fix this game breaking issue that should not be too complicated to fix.
