Banning for not being able to load in

I was banned from competitive for 1 hour for not being able to have enough time to load in, I think this is unfair and should be changed so if you are still loading in you can have more time and if you are not detecting any signs of loading, only then you should be banned. This was annoying because I tried loading in and because I was taking longer than usual, I was banned for 15 min due to other players not loading in, and then 1 hour because of my slow connection to the game.

OH NO!!!! God forbid gamers have to wait FIVE whole minutes :(( that's not tolerable at all considering the fact their sitting on their arse essentially doing nothing all day...

It has nothing to do with internet, the game randomly can't load a match properly sometimes, it loads others really fast, but there are times where it screws up and can't load the dang match.

The longest a match took for me to load was 3 minutes, it just wouldn't get me in the match.

Are you using an SSD? Are you plugged into ethernet? I had a friend who would not be able to join matches and he simply was using a hdd.

If this is an issue with the game, then it needs to be fixed. But the solution can't be "oh just make everyone wait longer then."

It's out of the blue when a match just won't load, 3 minutes isn't the usual time, it can load a game fast, but sometimes it's slow for no reason.

There's certain maps where loading gets stuck at 99% for some players, maps like Tokyo 2099 and given that the map selection in this game is completely random, you'll eventually play these maps whether you like it or not and you'll load in very late in quick matches and in competitive, you'll get ban.

I think the ban is justified because there's bound to be people who would take advantage of a no consequence system where someone loads in but leaves if they see low levels or low tier accounts on their team. Is it fair? In your case it is unfair because it is not your fault, this issue occurs with SSDs therefore I suggest not playing competitive until the loading issue is resolved.

It's more that this game is f'd up.

Has nothing to do with the Internet (typically, with these types of complaints anyways. For this game specifically.)

I had Rivals installed on my SSD and I kept getting the 99% loading issue. I could hear Galacta telling players to pick their characters and start counting down and it'd load me in a minute or two after the game started. (Even then character models wouldn't load, nor would projectiles. So everyone was just a floating health bar. So I couldn't see, or hear anything and get on)

Had to swap it to my HDD and it fixed for me. Everyone seems to say the fix is the opposite, going from HDD to SSD. Which makes no sense (what worked for me), since SSD is better, but it is what it is.

So yeah, in this case I'd argue others can suck it up and wait. Instead of the automated system auto-banning people because the game decides 'f you' and keeps you at 99%. Not the players fault the devs can't get their own game to work properly.

Competetive won't start until everyone loads in most of the time, if it takes you this long to load then the problem is on your side

I have an incredibly fast PC. Really great WiFi and Internet connection, too. Sometimes the game glitches out and doesn't load whatsoever. Then when I try to reconnect, it doesn't work. So it bans me for an hour. It isn't an issue with connection, it is an issue with the game. And banning people for that is bull.

I don't know what causes the "can't load in" issue, but I was able to fix it by setting my computer to use the Google DNS servers. Perhaps that will fix it for you as well.
