Ban Linux Cheaters before it's too late.

Hello Developers and Steam Community,
I hope this reaches you well.

Recently, I've become aware Linux systems are allowed to play this game. Be aware that Linux has a cheater problem in games like Apex Legends. I want this game to succeed so before Linux cheaters have a chance to infest this game, I recommend you guys block it

nobody is cheating on linux, apex has ♥♥♥♥ dev id system so ppl on window where spoofing their dev id to make it seem like they are on linux

theres no active linux cheaters on this game, its hard do develop cheats and cheats wont spend ♥♥♥♥ ton of time & money to develop cheats for a platform that nobody plays on

They spoof as Linux because it's impossible to write an effective anti cheat on Linux.
Plus, that's just another reason why Linux should be blocked.

As a backend engineer with 20 years experience, working for places like google/amazon/IBM/etc, this is the dumbest argument I've ever heard.

If anti-cheat doesn't work on linux, it's because that anti-cheat software is doing something sketchy or it's poorly developed/implemented. It's just as easy, if on easier, to cheat on windows. Linux in and of itself doesn't give you an edge.

Even the most advanced Linux anti cheat will still be poorly implemented because Linux has too many loopholes and exploits to hide detection.

You really dont understand the technology behind things to make such statements.

Also realize that SteamOS is linux, so it is foolish to thing Valve will ban their own operating system from multiplayer games.

The majority of cheaters are from console and Playstation, so the thing about Linux doing it too is new to me.

This game is not developed by Valve and all Valve shooters have cheater problems. Curious.

It literally does not. Show us the proof since the burden is on you to prove it as the one who claimed it is.

Edit: To add to that, windows uses a shim to provide compatibility for WOW64 so is windows an emulator?

Really all it would take is having the AI learn from whatever pro player you choose or whoever in whatever rank you want to be, maybe add some variation or combine two pro players into one, now you're also this pro 'player' and no one will ever know you're cheating.

The first ones to do this will also make a whole lot of money in more than one way so there is definitely a race to make this a reality.

Same. Cheaters will get you no matter the OS. Also OS as service need to be removed from society.
