ok, whatever. enjoy your forum fight win,
Marvel Rivals is not 'losing' more than it would normally lose.
Let's look at a few other online-only examples to see that this is a common trend for gaming, one that people like you are either intentionally ignoring to garner steam points via jester farming or are too ignorant to understand thus making any point you make... uh... inconsequential.
Game - launch - First 3 Months Players - 3-6 Months - Players after 1 year.
Palworld -2 million - 200k+ - 120k - (around 70k right now)
Black Ops 6 - 300k - 100k - x - x
Elden Ring (base) - 950k - 192k - 40k - 88k
Elden Ring (SOTE) - 780k - 74k - 40k - x
All games have a huge spike and in the first three months lose about 80% of it as they find their standard audience. This isn't new information, this isn't a shocking revelation.
This is the pattern MOST games follow.
It baffles me how clueless people like you are... the game isn't dying and I doubt it will. It's just going through it's pretty standard drop off like all games have... I actually don't understand how far in the dirt your head has to be to STILL think this trend which has been well documented for YEARS is the 'death' of a game.
"game dying fast" currently in game with 55 hours + XD
The game is doing just fine and far better than how Overwatch 2 is doing.
The daily players on Marvel Rivals is STILL hundreds of thousands of player count higher than OW2 has ever had at its peak.
As of time of writing this comment, Marvel Rivals is sitting at 368,219 players on just steam, OW2's highest ever player count is 75,608 with only 23,586 playing at time of writing this comment on just steam.
You guys are the ones coming in here and fighting. Just say you guys dont think this game is interesting and move on. Let people enjoy things
Best case? Marvel Rivals hangs on to a player base of 75k to 100k for a year. After that, it drops to around 50k and settles in, just like Overwatch did, with its loyal fanbase hangin’ tight.
And even if they fix every damn issue, it won’t change a thing. That’s just the gamer mindset in 2025—always chasing the next shiny thing. Sad, but true
Yup. There will definitely be a drop because people love riding the hype train, but those who stay because they like what they experience, will stick around for years to come. Marvel fans included
At least youre honest about you not liking the game, even though youre not interested, which suggests you've never played. And people will look at the worst in anything before trying to find enjoyment. Example: OPs post
Yea I have no interest and never played, nor will play, this game. It just looks like generic slop with Marvel logos painted on it... It's not my cup of tea... but what I hate more than a game I can't get into... people who claim a game is 'dead' like OP.
Also, the keyboard controls were acting weird every time I entered combat in a real game. It was not all like that in the tutorial or when I was not engaging in combat. Lowering settings did not help at all.
