What am I doing wrong?
So I'm not a great player, Overwatch im high plat to mid diamond playing support.
Figured I'd try support here. got into comp. I've lost 8 matches in a row with ~ 20k+ Healing, 2-5 deaths and maybe 10+ elims.
So what am I doing wrong?

your team might just be trash, cant do much if your team is bad; if you're a healer I'd recommend focusing on where your tm8s are and their hp, but you probably know how to play.

just watch when your teamates die and consider if you could have or should have been able to heal them to save them.

I just had healers rushing in IN FRONT of the tanks, yeah idk what they were doing.

just remember you cant heal your team if youre dead

Honestly, you CAN just be unlucky. Sometimes you gotta carry which isn't super easy as support. With Loki I can at least use ult to become a dps or tank, or use domain to keep the brain dead people alive.

Luna is amazing at sustain with her ult and self healing. Her freeze makes diving slightly harder, same with Mantis sleep.

Avoid playing Jeff with a bad team. Raccoon and Adam reviving can be good but if you REALLY don't believe in your team, its useless.

Forgot about Cloak but shes fine. Good for keeping yourself up and doing some damage
TL:DR Avoid Raccoon, Jeff, Adam. Play Mantis, Luna, Loki, Cloak(?).

Do you have a replay of the recent match?

Copy this game id:5028713699 into the replay page for reference purposes. This will show you how each player played their role well or not.

This is from ranked competitive match, not mine. There are healers/support: Raccoon and Luna with rounded total of 20K healing. Basically, this is similar to yours.

I play as back as I can while still being in the fight and safe from being jumped. Far enough back that I can see most of my team (aisde from snipers) and try to get flankers healed when I can

Luna - staying mostly back.
C&D - Playing mid/close to blind and whisk people away. Bubbles for team fights and whatnot

At lower ranks, don’t be too afraid to be closer. Luna can self heal when she uses her abilities (not the E that puts her power on allies) and Dagger can use her orb on herself and switch to cloak to get away (remember you can fly up while using his fade)

Honestly you need to pocket your best teammate and pick off any dps/supports that are out of position. Cloaks and Luna dps can do pretty good in a 1v1 against bad positioning/worse player

Post replay code.

But in general just carry more. If you're still in Bronze just carry. If you're a Plat/Dia OW Support should be easy. I'm just a Gold/Plat Support in OW and I carry out of bronze and silver.

Just take a break. I usually have bad luck playing so late/early. Besides, best to quit after a losing streak or if you aren’t feeling it.

Sometimes I’ll have a terrible comp game that I shouldn’t have lost, and I’ll just hop off and do/play something else for an hour just so I don’t queue with a bad mentality

despite what toxic elitists will tell you: you can't really carry as a single person in this game. You can definitely pull weight for other people, but you can't 1v6 the lobby. If you entire team holds W and staggers the entire match into the enemy then there isn't much you can do.

You absolutely can.

Not sure what you're on. You'll have bad games here and then, but if your team is that bad and staggers, chances are the enemy team is also that bad. Pick off their backline and now they're staggered. There are times you'll really get stomped and the enemy team is really just better, but those are rare in Bronze and Silver.

If you are actually good at the game you can definitely carry. Just gettnig one or two picks in their backline is more than enough to turn the tide.

Here's a game with Namor back in Silver Rank. I was originally Dr. Strange but we were losing at the start, so after losing two points I switch to Namor and break the 2-2-2 comp and with 1-3-2 we dominate with me going back adn getting enemy picks. If your DPS isn't doing the job, do it yourself. It is not hard in Bronze and Silver. You can solo carry and climb out of that pit if you have the skills.

We're not elitists making this crap up. We legit climbed out of Bronze and Silver by solo carrying. Here's a Jeff carry, I think I was Bronze at the time. Against Bronze shrubs it is super easy to carry.

If you don't have the skills... realize that and stop blaming it on your team. Then work on it, learn the game, practice your heroes in all roles, watch some Overwatch videos for theory, watch replays of enemies who kick your ass and learn how to do it to them. But it all begins from believing it can be done, and realizing you can do it if you have the skills, and if you don't, work on it until you do.

the ONLY good thing: a lose is about -10 points a win is +60
Just suck it takes 4-9 losses to get a win
