I think Storm needs a slight buff though and i have read a lot of comments about what people want in her but i dont want to change her current identity so i'll make another post about Storm buffs.
Yep, you'll find that in my guide. I say to stick close to your team and shoot through enemies. All your attacks, including the team-up attack, can hit multiple enemies so you need to play to those strengths -- as I'm sure you know!
I love her Ultimate and how violent it is.
I just wish they had gone with chain lightning as her M1. Lightning IS Storm.
I play a little different sometimes, so some mobility buffs would be helpful to switch from buffing role to attack role, i'm not sure her buffing role is strong enough to just stay back and cast weak Wind Blades all the time, and she cannot heal like all the other regular Strategists, i get the most success from using all of ther CD's in a short amount of time and killing the backline, almost like a diver but without the good short term mobility, she got her flying and high AOE damage from regular abilities and her amazing ULT.
I think with Storm its hard to put her in a spot, things are good when its chaotic, so just defending the objective with your team is good, or attacking the enemy objective can be good, she can kill off lower HP heroes on her own too with good aim, just wish she was faster, and shorter CD's to enable more opportunities, because without her abilities, she is really terrible.
Her ult feels so fast and powerful but the entire kit feels slow af its jarring
I like that her M1 feels like such a skill check, but the reward is so low it is barely worth it, no criticals, slow projectile, and strong damage falloff, i didn't even know it had a line AOE so i guess i might play a little different with it now... im fine with Storm having short range but then she should at least have some way too approach or escape enemies more easily.
Yea first time i played her I was immediately like, this projectile speed is too slow. I play her as a Support DPS oddly enough, just following around another DPS character and helping them secure kills, she's definitely not a ranged DPS, more of a support (due to her auras) and mid to close range DPS.
lol, that's funny, same as spiderman players that don't get kills: "Spiderman doesn't kill". xD
After she gets speed / mobility buff, THEN we can have real talks about how she is supposed to be played to be the best version of Storm imaginable, now it's hard to tell, maybe some simple movement speed / mobility buff is all she needed? can't really tell (besides the obvious problems of the slow mode switching speed and UI clarity, and reloading air for a DPS, her dps is low enough that reloading just feels weird)
Yeah, I try to think about her like this -- While her moment-to-moment gameplay can be pretty underwhelming, her impact on your team through the damage buff and her ultimate balances it out. My goal during games as Storm is to get my Ultimate twice as much as my teammates so that I can force out defensive Ults on the opposing team and let my teammates capitalize with their Ults. I'm sure you know this, but I recommend to anyone reading this to NEVER sit on her Ult -- use it at the first moment it makes sense, because you WILL get it back quickly if you're consistently hitting and especially piercing shots.
