What is the best way to counter a good iron man player?

Was doing comp last night, and this one player seriously carried the enemy team to victory. 46/3 at the end, i was in awe. He had hulk too, which i guess buffs his damage? As mantis i was getting destroyed haha.

So what heroes should i use to try and counter him? I tried punisher, but it felt like i was just tickling him. Hawkeye, i was having real trouble landing shots, as he constantly strafed. Starlord, i almost had him, but when he turned on me, i melted. He often flanked and had no heal support, but our team was pretty much all melee.

Play Hela, Hawkeye, and learn to aim. If you aren't landing shots you have not learned yet. His strafe speed is slow as ♥♥♥♥, what should be difficult to hit is him actually flying in rocket mode. Hela is a really good pick because she does max damage at range and is hitscan + semi auto.

Ahh, ive played her a few times. That is a good suggestion, and will try that next time i fight an ironman. I am still having trouble landing shots for sure, i am getting better, but its takin some time.

Cloak&Dagger... you dont have to AIM with Dagger ahahahaha

You can also fly close to him as Storm and ambush him with AoE Thunder.

I once had a Dr. Strange be an alpha and just fly in my face bait out to beam and punish me. I fell for it a couple times because you just don't see that often.

Punishers Turret isn't bad if Iron Man is flying around in the open with no cover around him.

You just hit him like any other hero that is without any cover. Any DPS like Hela or Punisher or Black Widow or Hawkeye can get him out of air in 2 seconds. (i play Iron Man)

It's the same thing you would do against a Pharah in OW, if you've played that.
