Where are the balance patches?
Why is this dev being so slow when it comes to balance? They had people pointing out problems with balance 5 months ago in the beta's. No excuse on what they are so bad at balancing this game. It's like they never play tested at all or listened to those that did. Why are devs so against making a good game with actual balance involved?

Because they, like almost all modern developers, think they know better. Unfortunately, like almost all modern developers, they are wrong.

I feel like it's more so they don't know what to change without changing something else. Everyone being incredibly lethal kinda set the game up to be a hot mess.

Because the game is out for 3 weeks only. When Ana released in OW1, for the first ~2 months everybody was trashing on her and calling out how bad she is, so what did devs do? They buffed her. And then "perceived" meta clicked and suddenly Ana became insanely OP. What did devs do? They nerfed her to make her even worse on paper than before her buff. But that didn't change anything since players have already realized how OP she was.

Morale of the story - no, players don't, in fact, know better. Neither do devs, of course - since the truth is always in the middle. In MR terms: there were countless callouts on how Wolverine is terrible or Iron Man is a joke or that Hulk is weak. And what do we know? Top-1 player actually mains Hulk, Wolverine is in top-10 and Iron Man has a solid strategy with countering Luna ult even at the highest tiers of play.

Give it time. If anything, MR are doing well to not immediately try to balance things out. When players en-masse will get used to the kits of the heroes and gain better game sense and understanding = that's then it will be clear which adjustments are needed.

You can't balance off of what a leaderboard says. There's a number of reasons people top leaderboards. They play with a full stack and coordinate with their team. I wish to main Hulk, but Hulk really is the weakest tank in the game at the moment only rivaled by Captain America.

Devs could make changes daily and see how it plays out, yet they don't cause they are lazy and don't care.

The game was in beta for half a year, so this is a bad argument. These developers are known for their bad balance in all their games, this is not something new, they rarely do anything with balance, they almost always have favorites who get all possible buffs etc.
I believe they stated they wanted people to actually try everything thoroughly before they'd consider touching anything. You can't always rush ♥♥♥♥, other wise you'll probably make it worse.

They ''balanced'' the game from the beta to the open beta ( season 0) , so I think they will start balancing the game when the season 1 kicks ( launch )
Lites Dec 23, 2024 @ 3:53am
Because they had planned tournaments for Season 0 and didn't want to change anything to disrupt training.

They could do what OW does and run on separate builds, but they haven't stated anything like that for future tournaments.

Balance patch will likely come with Season 1. Right now they are allowing a wild west of balance because the game is fresh. Give them time to compile the data, weigh what the community has said, and work on it from there.
What does not help them are the people that waste their time going "HURR-DURR NERF CHARACTER" then give no actual information on what they believe needs nerfed about them.

So, the beta was exposed to the full 20 mil players? Yeah, not really. Beta was to fix bugs and address most egregious issues. It was a closed system.

Now it's at scale and exposed to all the strategies and options. To be clear: I'm not advocating for lack of balance patches, but rather having those at the right time and off the right data. 3 weeks doesn't seem to be enough.

Im a player and i know for a fact that hela is overpowered compare to other dps. I know that there is only like 5 good dps that played 80% of the time and others need some buff. Players know because they playing the game all the time. Not all of them ofc

The main thing is that toxic whiners know what's best. After all, it's been so good for Overwatch. The developers should definitely start listening to you so they don't fall into the same trap as Overwatch again, yes?
Jesi Dec 23, 2024 @ 4:30am
You will not like balance patches anyway... "Balance" is only shifting power from one OP to another OP... and some champions ARE balanced - just git gud skill issue but people will always complain.

Even looking at "Top Tier" trash from youtube everyone says about stats and procentages but hero like Captain America in one is CTier and in another is STier. Hela is or isnt at the Top as well... compared to Hawkeye that is always.

You cant trust anyone.
