Ping/Latency

Last two days my ping keeps spiking while playing. Only lost connection once but normally I'll rubber band all over. Checked my internet and its fine and no other game does this. Worked fine before and didn't even lag once. It was a lot better today for whatever reason but still was happening. ping is pretty constant at 50 or so most matches then skyrockets to 100+. Happening to anyone else?

It's been like this since launch.

My ping goes from 50 to 200 and then I die by someone I don't see.

The servers are so bad, I swear in Overwatch my ping 50 never changes and stays constant throughout my entire gaming session.

I don't know what's going on, but the first week it was working perfectly and now all my games are laggy.

From a systems standpoint this might be one of the most atrocious releases for a comp shooter of all time. The game is more graphically intensive than space marine 2 despite looking cartoony, the mouse input is awful and theres forced acceleration, the ping is terrible, the third person camera lines up so asymmetrically that shooting to the right of people is massively easier when compared to the left.

I've noticed exactly the same thing over the last few days. Except that it's clearly affecting gameplay for me, I've had a ping between 20-35 constant since the start, and now it's yo-yoing all the time, just like you. Already the “basic” ping is not as good, but suddenly it goes up to 80 or even more, then suddenly it goes down again, well, exactly as you describe it. I was going to post a topic about this, but since I'm not alone, I'm a little reassured that it's all part of the game.

Ya this week my ping just skyrocketed to 5000 apparently I cant even play right now. On release it was 80 but something is up with their servers maybe too many players and it cant handle the load I am not sure.

Glad to hear i'm not the only one. Ping is so bad. The first week I was playing it was fine. Now i get 700+ from the main menu.

I've played 326 matches as of right now, and I SWEAR I've had no more than 4 that felt accurate. Outside of those, I've never been any less than a full half-second behind everything in game.

When the highlights play back after I'm taken down, it often makes me laugh, even through the frustration. The other players must think I'm a little kid, half the time -- Just attacking in random directions, on their screen.

same over here. I used to get consistent 60-70 ms ping in first week. now it is hovering around 80-90 and sometimes upwards of 100

Which country are you from guys? I need to know is it only in one country or no, cause i thought that was problem with my country (KZ)

I play on virg and its suppose to be 48, but im popping 70's

i'm playing in dallas area and it's suppsed to be 32 ping but i keep getting 80-90. Almost unplayable at this point....

Now an issue for some us in Asia getting an additional 30+ ping opposed to the 43ms displayed for Tokyo and Singapore on the server select screen and network diagnostic feedback , on good days it's like 70 but as of last 4 day it'is consistently been 100+
