But you probably shouldn't be playing competitive if it keeps crashing, its kind of bs to do to the other guys on the team.
I haven't crashed once.
I can't guarantee it's not something unique about your software configuration. But maybe it's worth checking to make sure you're not overheating your GPU or something?
In Rivals the game will crash by itself every few hours or DC you or whatever and then penalize you for it.
I rarely crash but the game needs to know when the crash is due to its crappy programming and not the user rage quitting the game.
You're triggering an automatic system which is there to eliminate throwers and trolls from competitive play.
It doesn't distinguish the reason of disconnect, just that you dropped from ranked game you have 2 minutes to reconnect without any penalty, of course only if match is still going on in that time.
It was implemented back in Overwatch 1, where the issue was so rampant that in any case your team started loosing on first map a.k.a. being stomp then 1, 2 or event 3 people from your team just disconnected in order to quickly queue for another game. But game was usually lost for people remaining in game, because new players ("back-fillers") cannot join already existing ranked game.
There were also some trolls that intentionally were griefing and ruining the experience for others, disconnecting 1 minute after game started.
Even if you're crashing or have a bad WiFi it still affects remaining 11 people on that game, and ruins experience for them.
If you have connectivity issues, keep temporary away from ranked games for some time.
If you want to play ranked restart game every 3 or 4 maps, since there is know crash / memory leak issue.
Disconnects from QuickPlay also are counted by this algorithm.
Overwatch showed some warnings about when you were near penalty, Marvel Rivals doesn't have these warnings implemented yet.
Though I think if you disconnect from ranked game it's instant ban for 2 hours or so, or you can disconnect 2 or maybe 3 times during 20 games.
At least that were the rules for Overwatch, but this game is basically a clone of Overwatch.
IMHO a player leaving a game and reconnecting for what ever reason, almost always means a lost map in ranked game.
Then whole team need to extra push to recover and win, or still lost after 30 minutes of gameplay with 3:2. Which is both bad.
IMHO the penalty system brings more good than bad. I was temporary banned a few times in Overwatch as well. I played that game more than a few years.
However, if you crash before the match starts, then i agree you shouldn't be punished, the match should just end.
