Platinum Issue?

Soooo. Me and my friend have been in Platinum rank for a few days, He plays tank really good and i'm a pretty good support since i was main Support on OW too. But we keep on finding lvl 17 duelists that barely reach 5k damage, dive or protect the backline. How do this kind of people reach plat? Do they get carried from friends or what? Because they end the game with less damage than me and i get the most healings done in the game pretty much every time. How does this happen? Do other players have the same issue too?

i can agree with this and people do get carried by some people because of the game still being new and people are still not in their true ranks. You just got to play through it and hope to get equally good teammates as you. But hey its not that bad, i hear people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in bronze/silver and don't know how to get out.(I'm a currently Plat 3 and have no issues climbing, just got to know the mechanics of the game better to be better)

i was in gold 2 forever because my teams were horrible i was thinking how tf do these guys climb
