Devs why you block engine.ini file

While it is obvious that the game optimization is terrible, you guys block the only way for FPS boosting, makes it unplayable for users with lower to mid level PCs. I don't understand that if you guys think modifying the game config is a violation to the game, then why not do it for us? It won't take a year for you guys since there is already a solution found by the community.

I was using the engine.ini to fix the horrible lag caused by strange's portal and the awful lighting engine UE5 has now i'm back to the microstutters on a $3500 computer build.

yep, I lost 40fps in a day, game is basically unplayable now even though I meet specs.

How much you paid is irrelevant if your PC is trash (especially if pre-built ripoff).

true but minimum specs isn't more than 500 bucks, even prebuilt you'd pay less than 1000 for a pc that is solidly within spec.

And that's about what I dished out for a LAPTOP that can handle the game without stutters, crashing, or load lag. Don't need a $3500 computer, just need a 4060, i9, m.2, 32gb RAM, and Windows 11 for DirectX 12 Ultimate.

Why the ♥♥♥♥ would you bother editing engine.ini when you can fix the strange portal, lighting engine, and microstutters by just changing the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ settings in game?

It boils down to just changing the Global Illumination setting from anything Lumen to SSGI and use either TAAU or DLSS Native if you are getting crashes on TAAU.

You overpaid for RAM and aren't going to do anything with a 4060 that warrants 32GB. 16GB is still absolutely valid and I never have any issues while using WIn 11 Pro, with only 16GB.
If it wasn't a laptop you'd have the argument of future proofing, but it is so it's not like you're upgrading that GPU and the whole thing will be a pile of e-waste when the gpu or power supply eventually dies.
