As someone who's currently in college for IT there are a few problems you could be experiencing.
A: Your Download and Upload speeds may be impacted, I've had this happen a few times before where my internet router would disconnect when playing games. They had to do a factory reset on the router.
B: Your wifi card could be becoming faulty.
C: If you haven't try checking online, the first popup that I see is someone with issues for valorant. Granted this was back in 2021, may still be relevant depending on your issues.
Lastly as you stated you have tested it in other games, with no issues. You are not alone according to research, theres a group of others on reddit talking about the same issue for the same game.
Force of habit, most of the games I play are pay to play. Also according to research others also experience packet loss a few posts on steam. It seems fairly inconsistent with players though. It could be region based, netease if I recall is... Situated in China.
Marvel Rivals utilizes Netease Gaming Security (NGS), an in-house anti-cheat solution developed by NetEase. This system operates at the kernel level, granting it deep access to your system to monitor and prevent cheating.
2. Uninstalling the Game
Begin by uninstalling Marvel Rivals through the standard method:
Windows:
Open the Control Panel.
Navigate to Programs and Features.
Locate Marvel Rivals in the list, right-click, and select Uninstall.
Steam:
Open the Steam client.
Go to your Library.
Right-click on Marvel Rivals and select Manage > Uninstall.
3. Verifying and Removing Residual Anti-Cheat Components
Uninstalling the game may not automatically remove the anti-cheat drivers. To ensure complete removal:
Check for Running Services:
Press Win + X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
Type the following commands to check for the presence of NGS services:
sc query type=service | findstr /I "NGS"
sc query type=driver | findstr /I "NGS"
If any services related to NGS are listed, note their names.
Delete Residual Services:
In the same administrative command prompt, execute the following commands to delete the services (replace ServiceName with the actual service names found):
sc delete ServiceName
For example:
sc delete NGS-Driver
sc delete NGS-Service
Remove Associated Files:
Open File Explorer and navigate to the following directories to delete any remaining NGS files:
C:\Program Files\Netease\NGS\
C:\ProgramData\Netease\NGS\ (Note: ProgramData is a hidden folder; ensure hidden items are visible)
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\NGS.sys
Delete these files and folders if they exist.
4. Verifying Complete Removal
After performing the above steps:
Check for Remaining Services:
Reopen the administrative command prompt.
Run:
sc query type=service | findstr /I "NGS"
sc query type=driver | findstr /I "NGS"
Ensure no NGS-related services are listed.
Restart Your Computer:
Reboot your system to finalize the removal process and ensure no residual components are active.
5. Additional Considerations
User Reports: Some users have noted that certain anti-cheat systems may leave behind residual files or services even after game uninstallation. It's advisable to manually verify and remove these components to maintain system integrity.
System Monitoring: Regularly monitor your system for any unauthorized services or drivers, especially after uninstalling software with kernel-level access.
By following these steps, you can ensure that both Marvel Rivals and its associated kernel-level anti-cheat software are thoroughly removed from your system, maintaining your computer's security and performance.
Not sure to delete them or not
