I've figured out why the aiming feels so terrible
Play Hawkeye, draw the bow back and then aim around your screen. It feels EXACTLY like a controller thumbstick feels, very blocky with noticeably less precision than a mouse. It's been driving me crazy trying to figure out why the aim in this game feels so terrible, and today it finally registered. Instead of putting strong aim assist in the game for controller users (like most studios do), they decided to make the mouse feel and aim like a controller instead. They literally put deadzones in while aiming with your mouse, you can see them as you move your crosshair around the screen. If you move your mouse very subtly, the crosshair either won't move at all, or will move a very small distance.

This game has a deadzone for kb+m players, the first game I've ever seen that does this.

you can add to your config to remove mouse accel

I've done that, it's not acceleration. It's built in dead zones, go test it out. It's why the aiming feels like such ♥♥♥♥.

Don't be a weak minded follower and use words you've seen others use. I've been gaming longer than you've been alive, I've played more games than you've even heard of. I know how to aim, I also know how to pay attention to what's happening in a video game. And it's a simple, objective, fact that this game has the most bizarre and inaccurate aiming that a game has ever had. When you reach over the age of 13, and have played more than four total games in your life, get back to me. Your generation doesn't know how many genders there are, much less what to pay attention to in a video game to determine what's happening or not.

Aiming isn't as smooth as OW or COD. That's a fact. I've been messing with my settings without success. Hopefully devs will continue to improve it.
hi friends Dec 21, 2024 @ 10:29am
the game have extreme lag when you place "portal", so kinda no surprise if this deadzone was a case lol

He's right though I've been getting like 14% accuracy ratings as ranged even though I'm aiming at the targets but it's like my bullets go past or get swallowed by blackholes real weird sht

I would say it is because of mouse smoothing and not deadzones. Mouse would stop responding if mouse smoothing detects and tries to correct your drawn lines. Which is very obvious in the game and mouse acceleration on top of that. The negative mouse acceleration and positive one. You can't disable any of those.

You can go into the config file in Appdata and turn off mouse smoothing and acceleration, I've noticed an improvement, but the aiming is still noticeably less precise feeling than other games.
