I've reached GOLD 3 today just to get the skin (which I will never use, probably :D). Won't play Ranked this season anymore to not drop down back to Silver - it was a struggle to get to Gold already.

The rewards are based on the highest rank except top 500 reward, so feel free to play comp, even if you go back to bronze you will get the skin regardless.

In order to get to gold, you have to be able to carry 5 bad players.

Since this is season one and there were no placement matches, it probably matters when you started to play ranked games.

I myself started playing like 2 weeks after release. Always solo queue. and to be honest it is a lottery. Matchmaking obviously isn't doing a good job now. Add to that a gray area with smurfing, and some cheaters not being caught.

I guess most people who have had some clue about the game and were playing closed/opened beta, they got in high ranks very fast.
Season two will tell you true rank.

Now with 20.000.000 players out there you need to try really hard to exit Bronze. Even if PC would be half of that. it is still large pool of players.

I'm stuck in Silver II for now, but I do not play that much ranked.
I hope Devs will patch the game soon and will update the anti-cheat.
Seeing aimbotters in ranked, makes me not wanna play more.

Only suggestion I can give you guys as a someone who's close to GM, would be that you should play DPS up until Silver 1 regardless of your role, then for gold and above mostly play your own role, I started playing comp 9 days ago and strictly soloQ healer, Diamond 1 trying for GM.

They count the people that have also never touched rank. Everyone by default is Bronze III.
