Competitive matchmaking; 2 wins to 9 loss
I just can't seem to be able to climb the ladder at all. Never in any other game has it felt this hopeless and waste of time trying to advance rank.

Eleven games from which my side won only 2. From those 9 games lost, I was SVP for 3 games and even rest of them did all right, but it's not enough.

I just don't know how damn well you are suppose to do to get the rank up. Playing mostly Peni Parker and doing most damage in game 20+k, blocking 27k damage and healing over 4k.

And still loss after loss.

It's getting boring. And fast. Though, I've definitely gotten my share of fun for the money I spent on battle pass so no regrets, but I mean I can't be the only one feeling like this that it's time to move on, as competitive seems broken for the matchmaking and quickplay is starting to be a bit boring.

i agree with all above. its you. I'm still bronze cause I'm not good enough to claw out yet. There is no shame in admitting you aren't good enough to climb. And even if people do try to shame you all the more reason to get better and then ruin their games when you are up against them later on in your journey.

Look, kid, you don’t have much of a choice here. You gotta keep training. I'm gonna leave you this little post so you get an idea of the stats the TOP-500 players put up, and then you can try to match 'em.

https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelrivals/comments/1hhrlkj/marvel_rivals_s0_meta_tierlist_based_on_top_500/

Now, head over to your stats—check ‘em both in Competitive and Quick Play.

The top dogs in the TOP-500? Yeah, they dish out an average of 14,360 damage with peni-parker

They also block a good 19,815 damage, with her.

Here’s what I think: you can probably hit High-Platinum or Low-Diamond by one-tricking... but anything higher? Yeah, sorry kid, you're gonna have to play the "META" and you're probably gonna need yourself a solid team of three.

If you're gonna one-trick, you need those exceptional stats, and that K/D ratio? You better be at least 5:1, or you’re just not gonna win the matches are on your hands.

i watch some of the best players in the world play rivals and even they will be put into matches that are impossible to win it is simply the way the matchmaker works in this game, also if you are solo then prepare to face premades because for some reason they put solo and team premades in the same que.

tbh most people are probably bronze-silver quality players and they belong there. So there's no use getting salty about it. You can still learn while losing. You can still have fun while losing. And if you're not you should just take a break.

there is no fun to be had to be put in a rigged match where you individual skill makes no difference and the match is already most likely predetermined its a stomp or be stomped fixed winrate based matchmaking

Happened to me yesterday, like 10+ losses and only 3 wins,

This is just not working out, either the team mates are just... doing whatever, rushing alone and dying like flies or they blame the healers ( which i'm one of them ), not only does discourage people from keep playing, but also is just unhealthy, and making me feel useless, since everthing I try, nothing works.
It's Mental breakdown indulcing, specialy if you suffer from depression and such. ( and that's a fact )

It just doesn't feel good to play this anymore, be it Comp or QP, with friends or alone.
Usually when people blame the healers it's because they are unintelligent and don't realise that their job isn't to make them immortal while they run head first towards their DPS behind a wall. Now if people are specifically blaming you constantly then maybe they have valid points but if it's just the role they are blaming then ignore them. Idiots will be idiots. It's really not difficult to regroup with the healers when you're low on health. People seem to not understand that they can make healers have an easier time with positioning.
While I understand your point, I've seen games where a skilled healer can completely change the narrative. For instance, in a game last night, our four healers combined for over 200,000 healing, and I personally blocked 85K damage. It was a clear demonstration of how impactful great support can be.

However, I think the core issue sometimes lies in situational awareness. Supporting roles often struggle to take in information or adjust their positioning, even slightly—just 5 degrees up or down can make all the difference. This lack of awareness can lead to frustrating games for everyone. It's not just a 'healer problem' or a 'DPS problem'; it's often about the 10% of players who don't adapt or communicate effectively, ruining the experience for others.

The Next Match Will NEVER BE THE MATCH

Your problem is you're relying too much on your stats. Role of the tank is to peel enemies that are on your squishy team members and draw as much attention to yourself as possible. If you're consistently getting the highest damage its because your DPS and healers are being harassed. If you play your role right you should have a pretty consistent 50% win rate once you hit your true rank.
For sure at lower ranks stats speak for your skill and at higher ranks it’s more about game sense, being aware of your self and your teammates. And knowing when to make certain plays either to stall or bait a push or an ult from the enemy etc.
yea the matchmaking in bronze is ass, literally nobody swaps roles, solo diving with tanks and DPS frontlining for some reason, too many main characters thinking they can play as psyloche. ffs .
skill issue, or just get friends

I'll just add this.

People love to blame their team, bots, cheaters, throwers, the matchmaker, what have you. What is the one constant in every match you play?

Start with yourself. Stop worrying about your team and just focus on improving your own play. The rest will follow.

As a side note though, another thing people tend to forget is that everyone has limits. They assume that if they just keep playing, eventually they'll keep climbing. Not true.

Everyone has a skill cap. Now, that doesn't mean we're currently playing at it, but it is there.
If my cap hovers roughly around mid gold, and i'm in bronze, then yes, i can climb. However once i hit mid gold, that's as far as my skill can take me.

Most people refuse to accept this and if they can't keep climbing, then it's everything's fault but theirs.

No matter how many baseballs i go outside and throw, i'll never be able to throw an accurate 98 mph fastball like a starting MLB pitcher. It's just a fact. Accept your limitations and just enjoy the game.
Facts. The common denominator is you. You aren't just magically getting the worst teams while you enemy gets the best teams. I mean, sure it may happen sometimes absolutely, but keep playing and you WILL climb if you are skilled enough. The enemy team will experience the same sort of team comps as you and have bad games as well

While this is partially true, you can't leave out the fact how matchmaking works/ MMR. This is bigger than a teammate issue. Noticing for some reason the other teams overall experience is just better than most of the teams I am getting in no offense to any I have queued with. As well as this is the first season so it might take more time for the players to filter higher up. I hit Gold 2 the first week and it said "Higher than 90% of players." I dropped to Gold 3 and, got back up to G2 it said, "Higher than 83% of players serverwide."
So there is also that to take into account.

This guy gives some good advice on what could be the problem your facing and how you can potentially fix it and climb.

If Idie its your fault, sorry.
