Can i get ban if i'm using mods?
Saw some mod that boosts fps on nexus mods and was thinking about instaling it because my pc is not in the best conditions.
I want to install this mod. Have any of you guys tried it? If you have tried, have you been banned for it or not?

Generally rule of thumb with modding games like Marvel Rivals or changing character models is always use at your own risk. Which means don't be surprised if you do get banned, but it also means you might not get banned. It just depends on what the anti-cheat picks up. Usually developers don't control what the anti-cheat detects as a cheat as they're totally separate companies.

The average gamer has no idea and usually goes after the developers when they control none of it and what is considered cheating.

in official discord all that developers said: At this time, we kindly advise against modifying any game files in Marvel Rivals, as it may lead to unexpected issues.
That why i'm curious. I just want to play game without lags, no skins and etc
Like I said, they say that because they don't control the anti-cheat. That's a totally different company. So if that other company decides oh we're updating out anti-cheat and now it detects the files you've changed or added. That's it, you're now considered a cheater.

So again, it's a use at your own risk, the developers won't step in and help you, they'll just ban you and move on regardless of what kind of files you were adding or messing with.

If all it does is tune some settings down, it sounds like that mod is fine and it's unlikely you'd get flagged.

On the discord the devs said "advise against modifying any game files in Marvel Rivals" so it's better that you don't use any mods just in case.

That's why it's a tough choice, you might never get banned or you might, it's up to you to decide if it's worth the risk.

A good rule of thumb with modding any game is to ask yourself, "Is this going to give me an advantage?". If the answer is yes, don't install it.

For example, the fat skins do not increase the hitbox of characters, but they make them significantly more visible on the field. That's a grey area.
