I think we all agree that the game is on a decline.

It averages around 80k players, which is pretty bad for a game that was created by such a huge studio in a market as unsaturated as Hero Shooter MOBAs.

Im estimating that the game will be around for another 2-3 months before people move back to overwatch... and i dont think the devs will do anything to stop that.

Then again, hard to compete with a game as good as Overwatch.

You know that the game is on consoles too and epicgames playercount counts too,it reached 20 million in 5 days its not even dead

Averaging 80k players? its currently at 180k, during peak times usually at about 400k. And as others said this is just on steam not counting consoles at all.

Plenty of people will try the new shiny toy, but it is inevitable that soon it will drop to it's real dedicate playerbase (i would guess it will end around on 30k low and 100k peak) since casual players always play new and different games. And that still would be a great number for a live-service pvp game.

Let me tell ya, it’s normal—most games lose about 90% of their players within a month of launch. If Marvel Rivals were not free-to-play? It wouldn’t have hit 20 million simultaneous players. Nah, best-case scenario? Maybe 2 million, tops.

Now, if the dev team pulls off some interesting balance and gameplay tweaks for Season 2 in January, maybe—just maybe—they’ll hold on to 50% of their player base a little longer. But hey, that’s a big if, isn’t it?
