Costumes time limit

I am reading the in-game patch notes and wondering: Is there a reason other than F U to the community for removing costumes from the shop? Are they going to return at some point? Are the seasonal outfits going to be available each year? Or did the corpos in charge just see the garbage fomo model Fortnite is using and decided they want that?

So they did great with having all heroes/gameplay unlocked, let's say decent with battlepass (fomo but you can buy it and finish whenever) and then ♥♥♥♥ the bed with the shop. Great.
