Fake player numbers and fraud. Bots are infesting the servers.

it is no secret that the remaining players in marvel rivals are experiencing difficulties in terms of matches and play. the queue times in marvel rivals are aimed to be fast in any way possible and when the game cannot quickly find other players, because the game isn't actually played by as many people as steam displays, the game brute forces the player and even their entire team into a match with bots. at first those players don't believe it, but upon further look they see that their moves are literally the same and devs aren't even trying to hide it.

in case someone didn't know, this game is developed by a chinese studio. those are infamous for being able to create a lot of bots and spyware going against people's expectations in western countries, to spy on them by retrieving critical data and selling such data. creating bots and keeping the numbers fake was not difficult to them either. the bots they've set up have private profiles and they do count to the overall player number that's actually a lot lower than people were led to believe.

and since a lot of people feel concerned about the game being botted, just like some of the other steam discussions in this hub, we can see that the reputation of marvel rivals is already at risk and people are worried that the game will not last with such a questionable decision. but in reality, since this game is just one big advertisement for other marvel stuff and mediocre movies, devs of this game have already invested into the game's potential and inevitable popularity decline in months to come, so they've set up bots in advance, bots that hide under player names, which is a tremendous fraud. this explains why the influx of users in this particular hub isn't that high, even though supposedly the game is supposed to be played by around 200k players. turns out that is not true and those are just bots set up by the developers to not only inflate the player number, but to deceive certain players that they are doing well so that they won't quit the game. some justify it by saying that "it's because the game is made for kids" but it's not how it works, a good game with a good matchmaking system wouldn't need that kind of desperate measures, it would find skill matched players, so really seeing this kind of tendency and the desperation of the developers is not new.

this is why this game is not actually popular and isn't actually liked, the game simply cannot provide the players for months to come, which is why they had to resort to bots to inflate fake player numbers. this kind of tendency in the online videogame industry is concerning to people and for a good reason. not only that, but there are also a lot of cheaters and combined with lack of quality content and support from the developers in the months to come, because it is difficult to maintain a modern multiplayer game with content that can keep a large amount of players invested, also marvel rivals being a convoluted game with elements that are detrimental to its longevity and lack of measures against cheaters the game will not last long and has an uncertain future ahead.

Some people just have the inability to distinguish bots from real players. It says more about them as a player than anything.

Quit playing QUICKPLAY which is just a mode for QUICK fun.

Also they don't count fill bots in the Steam thing or for accounts. Those are player replacers who leave or disconnect or for any other reason.

It's at 20 Million btw Steam isn't the only platform. They have a stand alone client which a MAJORITY use.

If your at Bronze a lot of those brain dead players.....are players. Once you get high enough you won't see them any more. Cause there are enough players at that point. When you're all the way on the bottom it tries to give you players with your skill level and when you so god awful it gives you bots so you can feel like you are winning sometimes.

It's a common Chinese tactic in games and there are a number of American games that pit really bad players against bots so they feel good about themselves.

The solution is to stop being that bad.

I also wouldn't come on here and tell everyone why you're seeing so many bots....Fortnite does the EXACT same thing. New players and extremely bad players face off against bots. The fact is even against bots you're probably still losing....so you'll only ever see bots cause it's trying to allow you to have fun even if you still fail.

They just can't lower the bar any more.

Yeah i don't care. I press PVP- means i should fight players. If i want to fight bots i'll queue vs AI. Even if I'm stomped every match. I try things an experiment against players in QP. That's how i get better. Bot matches just waste my time.

Well it's trying to tell you that you're so bad it doesn't want you to waste other peoples time until you learn how to play. It's trying to allow you to have fun by using brain dead bots that can't think. They system can not lower the bar any further and your at the very very bottom.

Either climb up and get better or just be happy they're allowing you to play with such abysmal skill. Cause no one else wants to lose due to having such a bad player on their team.

Ironically the system is designed to basically give you free wins.....if you're still not winning......then that is all you cause it's basically below easy mode at that point.

No joke, i've watched alot of replays of "lobbies of bots" and ever single one has been clearly humans playing, either children, people very intoxicated, or just people new to the game... but def humans. Like the people who believe this are actually delusional and just looking for something to complain about.

It wouldn't make sense to have bot lobbies from a financial standpoint. Like the electricity costs alone to run that many bots at once would make the game a financially failure in the first couple months.

The people here are acting so delusional their arguments start running the same exact thought processes as flat earthers. I wish i was joking but this is a weird conspicracy theory that has looped in actually delusional people who keep doubling down.

The real truth is that the replay viewer has known bugs. The things people are seeing that make them think its bots are literally the known bugs of the replay viewer. So people are treating the replay viewer as gospel truth when in reality its an unreliable account of the game.

So yeah this is literally just delusional people mistaking known bugs in a replay viewer as bot behavior.

Alot of players, like myself, don't consider playing against bots as QUICK FUN. QUICK FUN in QUICK PLAY is playing against other players in a CASUAL setting, not a SWEATY setting like competitive. Does R6S force bots into Quick Match? NO. Does Valorant force bots into Unrated? NO. Does OW2 force bots into Quick Play? NO.

Players shouldn't be persuaded to play Competitive just because bots are being forced into a mode that supposed to be exclusively PvP (Player Vs. Player). There's no argument, they shouldn't be put there in the first place.

Lol you don't know that the replay viewer lies do you? its kind of a buggy mess atm... also if your "researches" were real then you'd know how much it would cost the company per day in electricity for this conspiracy to be true. Its literally just as likely that this game actually puts a wizard in all of our computers to make us smell like farts, that's how believable this is.
