Bots in quick play MEGATHREAD - videos, screenshots and replays

You know it, the feeling when you lose 2 games in a row, jump into another game in quick play and then you see enemies walking towards you, not using any abilities. If you refuse to attack, they will use basic attack on you after 2 seconds of circling around you and if you are close to dying they will start missing all of their shots, meanwhile bots on your team (sometimes they are real people suffering with you) are superior.

This is not a game, this is a social experiment about how many people are stupid and will not realize it (quite a lot judging by posts about how there are no bots) and about if players will be ok with it and keep playing. I am not a lab rat. If I click to play PvP, I want PvP, not veilded PvE so I can feel better after few lost games.

This should be illegal to be honest, or at least Steam should ban games that are lying to their players, but well, what can you expect from China.

This is big, after 3 lost game I managed to be the only human in the whole game. You can see it by the behavior and names of the rest. Also, I made like 15 prompts asking anyone to type anything. Nobody did.

I already suspected bots are always aiming for 2-2-2 composition, this game confirmed it. Another thing is if I was the only player in whole game it confirms without a doubt it is Netease who stands behind the bots.

I realized it quickly I play with bots so I didn't play - basically let my team play 5v6. it is impossible to lose. If you analyze objective number 2, both bots play evenly, but enemy won objective because of 6v5 advantage. However, if you look at objective 3, you see my team plays godly and enemy dumbs down, it was not even a contest. It is rigged so you WILL win.

Additional info: Game was searching for match like 20 seconds, what is a lot for this game. It's very possible it had trouble to find anyone else with lose streak, that's why I ended alone in my team. I regret I didn't swap hero to see if bots will also switch to aim for composition 2-2-2.

How do I know these were bot games - if you click on the match and try to inspect profile of a bot, it says you can't. As you see, all bot matches occurred after lost games, almost all took 2-3 lost matches, however at the end I needed only 1 lost match for it to occur.

Thanks to the user "Nyattery Acid" it is confirmed without a doubt that bots faced in qp are from NetEase itself and not outside source. Post marked as an answer to this thread.

If someone is still on the fence (for whatever reason) about existence of bots thanks to the user "Johan" I learned that on the website tracker(dot)gg instead of a name bots are described just as a "BOT". Example below.

i wonder if its another company that inflates the playerbase with bots, to later pull them back so that people of the "ded gaem" mentality get some wind under their wings and the game is killed off. maybe to force the game company to over-invest in their own product?

Which isn't to say its not a bot AI, just not the AI that the game itself has. The DEVs would have to have an entirely different AI for use in these bot matches, one that in no way resembles the AI bots even on easy.

And for what? to give somebody an easy win? To make them lose?

Loser ques have been a thing in overwatch for years and years. Do well and they match you against harder opponents or stacks (or both). Do badly enough and you get a match with better teammates. Why go through all the bother of creating easily identifiable bot names to insert into the game so people can get an 'easy win'. If they wanted to do that, why not use ChatGPT to make a million unique usernames? Allot about this just doesn't add up.

Ever play a match vs AI bots in co-op or in custom games? The AI bots that shiped with the game have a very describable pattern of behavior. First off they don't stop shooting so long as they have a target in sight. They will latch on to the closest target that they can LoS and shoot shoot shoot. They might shoot to miss with the easy AI or they will have sniper like accuracy with the hard AI. In fact an easy AI will actually miss their shots by the same amount, they ARE aim bots after all. They will use abilities and cool downs with a certain logic. They will use teamup powers where they can be used.

They stay in the kill ball. They don't flank. The strats don't run past the vanguard on the first killball heading to point or payload. They don't waste cooldowns if nothing is around. If a hulk is in melee range it will not stop melee attacking unless all targets move out of melee range or it weaves in a cooldown.

Every one of these games with these 'bots' behave nothing like the AI that shipped with the game. Hence, it is not the DEVs doing this. Who knows who or what.

I have many times now given times stamps in these replay codes of behavior that does not match up to the AI behavior that shipped with the game.

Don't bother with making a video, provide a replay code and I will give you time stamps. I've done it plenty already in other threads.

Cuz I just know you will pull the one where they all jump up the corner of the stairs in the same place. Scripts exits, and have existed for people to run multiple characters in overwatch. They level up and sell characters so people can smurf.

I lost two games, got thrown into a bots match so now I'm getting aim botted by the bots as they all have auto aim. I'm watching the bot Star-lord, flicking to different targets, until he flicks to me and kills me when I'm low health behind him.

there is 0 chance there ARENT bot lobbies. its so predictable. none of them have skins, they basically hold W, use abilities at basically random times.

sucks to go on a loss streak and get a "victory lap" of the game throwing literal worse than "easy" mode ai at you

Where am I denying BOT lobbies? I am denying that the 'bots' being used are the AI bots that shipped with the game. They are not even close to even Easy bots that the game shipped with.
