Learn counters, change characters!
In my opinion people need to be a bit more fluid in their character choices, you need to be ready to change out and switch to someone more suited to fight against your opponents. We all have favorite characters but no single character is always the right choice.

This mentality is a bit of the antithesis to hero shooters. The devs have stated they want people to play who they want, so if you want to onetrick, that's fine, branch out a bit if needed, that's fine.
Concord suffered because it had a big mechanic that made you swap characters often for various buffs.
So what you're telling me is that I shouldn't play Punisher into shields and walls and stand behind my team and then get nuked in the backline by dive!?

No it must be the other people's picks that are wrong!

I feel with ya for real tho. I do have my own mains, but branching out is by far the best for you and your team but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ am I a terrible healer!

Sorry i didn't mean that as a hard stance lol just saying people need to be more adaptive and alot of the complains on here would disappear.

Here's the thing tho, counterpicking is very much a part of the game whether we like it or not. An example would be playing someone like Black Widow into a pure dive team. Is it possible? Sure, but damn are you going to have a rough time as Venom, Hulk, Magik and BP goes for your soul with or without your E off cooldown.

That + pick characters that help your team. Not just counters.

In one game I was having a really good time blocking the capture point as Penny, we held them in base the whole first round, but we needed to play a tiebreaker.

So we went on defense again, I wanted to take penny again but I noticed we had a really good spiderman on our team with several kills, so I picked venon instead, we were able to hold the point and we won that match, I saw that spiderman using my skill to finish off important targets, idk if we would have won if I had ignored that good player and just picked something I wanted like a buttmunching monkey.
I like to take it as a challenge if I'm matched up against characters that are less than ideal. Should I be going for Storm and Iron Man as Magik? Probably not. But damn is it satisfying to 'E' up to them and combo them to death from out of nowhere.

I am fine with that in quickplay, but if in ranked you are 2 and 12, theres two melee heros, and an enemy ironman, why wouldnt you switch

shift>LMB>cancel with E for a doublehit>LMB>cancel with the "melee attack" button

Instant kill from full HP against anything that's not a vanguard.

Fair warning if you are not playing around 60fps, the cancel maneuvers don't work for you. Watched a few videos the other day about it. Make sure you turn you settings down so you get at least 60fps, i guess even wolverine attack slower (less damage) below that. A handful of people are covering this issue if you want to look it up.

Nah pass.
Groot counters everyone

Survival is all about adaptation. Adapt, or fail.

For me, I just dont really have a grasp yet on who counterpicks who, and who is better in what situations. For now, I have at least one pick in each category I can switch to and play reasonably. (Well, I'm kind of bad at DPS regardless cuz my aim's bad, but I can do *something*)
It's also just the case that some characters are better on some maps than others.
What about the ppl that only know few char and prolly come ingame for like 3 matches, trieing to do dailies and suchh as "char x"?
Sometimes you gotta pick around or supporting the woodheaded ppl. ^^

I agree there, but if they have fliers and no one picks ranged (i know some skilled melee players have no problem with flying, i am not one of those lol). There are times that counters are kinda obvious and people just stick with a character that gets drilled over and over in their current team composition. I certainly don't know all (or even many) of the hard counters, but i do know that if i'm getting crushed over an over again(in a single round) something needs to change. Tons of the complains on here are because people don't understand basic counters in this type of game.
