I also like to try and leave Sue shields around corners or up in the air for characters I can't easily heal, so that they have an option for themselves, and I'll try to replace it when we push up in a map.
Same for dps on Diamond: heal heal with both healers dead. Idk how dps can climb with 0 vision.
You don't play strategist, do you?
Good strategists are doing a lot of things. We are assessing the health of our teammates (vanguard and strategist get priority, then duelists assuming low health situations), we are also watching for flanks as the enemy team loves to ruin our day. Many times, we can fight off flankers IF we see them coming first. It's when they get the jump on us that it goes south fast. So we are constantly looking for possible threats.
Most strategists are also decent ult trackers as we typically have the counter-ult. We might be tabbing our screen to see where our Strange is in ult charge to estimate the enemy strange. In those settings, we will typically play farther back if we don't have our ult, or be ready to pop ours in an instant if we play Luna or C&D. On top of all that, we are looking for opportunities to contribute damage when the team is healthy and doesn't need our immediate support.
Long story short, a good strategist is balancing a whole lot more than just the team's health. If you're in need, either ping yourself or get on the mic and (nicely) ask for healing.
You're really trying to justify being a lazy healer with tunnel vision, the very worst type of healer which these hero shooters are plagued by.
You have the easiest role in the game and you still refuse to look up in the air to help your ironman and do your job?
You should have your head on swivel at all times as a healer, if you don't want people to see you as a trash healer at least.
That's your job, that's what separates a great healer and a mediocre one and if you aren't doing that you are a liability on every single team you play with and the weakest link because you are the backbone of the team. And you're choosing to exert as little effort as possible and don't even want to look up in the air???
When I see bad healers complaining about "oh I got 50K heals and we still lost!" this is precisely the reason why. Because they want to be as lazy as humanly possible and get an easy ride up the ladder, only looking forward at the tank and whoever is in front of them while people die all around them and they never even notice.
Then they want to pretend they're the best healers in the world who make no mistakes and are ready to lie on anyone who calls them out (yes people feed in this game but I've had terrible healers blatantly lie on me claiming I was feeding when I regularly have the fewest deaths on teams with good game sense to protect their own fragile ego when you call them out for being so lazy), blame everyone but themselves and all, almost every time, it's disgusting.
This is one of the biggest problems with hero shooters, healers and their egos who think everyone else should bust their ass and not them, they think they should be allowed to just stand around in the back only looking forward like a bot while everyone else works a thousand times harder than they are. And no one ever calls them out on it because people aren't noticing these things and don't watch healers as much as other roles, it isn't as obvious when they're playing badly and 'big' healing numbers mean nothing, anyone can get a large amount of healing standing still healing the tank all game while dps and the other healer get little to no heals.
This is not meant to bash but contructive criticism from an extremely competitive player for that small group of healers who don't have fragile egos and actually take accountability.
- some redditor on steam.
Stfu and just play the role you picked well instead of sitting here ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because you dont know how to aim your camera upwards.
Tunelvision is a thing and you seem to have a severe case
Here's another tip, if you think you can do a better job healing, instalock healer instead. Have fun.
"If you don't do X I won't do X"
How about just play the role you chose and get better at it instead of farming asspats on the internet? Like, you chose to do this, why would you actively sabotage your team just because "tHeY DiDnT piNg Me"?
If I am in a group and one of my people are a healer. Then I ask. Outside of being in a premade. I would rather keep my sanity not asking for a heal.
Rocket Main here. 23.5k/10min I die roughly 1 time per game. 95+% of the time I'm top heals top assist.Bronze 3 to Plat 2. Easy game. No problems with flankers. Ping. I'm an escape god so if the enemy team wants to send a dps on an expedition around the map to try and get me they are just wasting their time. I'm in the back line so I see everything.
I'm only getting better, played a match today 20 minutes I did 62k healing. (31k/10min) 1 death
