ranked is not totally beyond goofing most of the time you get matches of people going full dps, or 3 healers for some reason, ranked rewards are a crest and a season skin not really worth much either.
only agree for the challenge bit.
Not only will you play vs 6 bots in QP but you can also play vs 6 bots in vs AI mode.
Oh btw when you play games vs 6 enemy bots your team will have 2 bots. So the match has 4 humans and 8 bots in it. If thats fun for you, you do you then
I play and prefer ranked because the is an expectation. What is that expectation?
The. Goal. Is. To. Win.
I have had PLENTY of QP matches ruined because people aren't putting in at least 100% effort. I get it, the definition of 'fun' is different for everyone, but in a Competitive PvP game the goal is to win.
Yes, Marvel Rivals - the ENTIRE game - is Competitive, not just Ranked. If I want to have games where my team is genuinely trying to win more often than not, why would I play QP when Ranked pushed people to actually try because 'number go up'?
The argument 'Just have fun!' is also laughable because the idea you load up a game like Marvel Rivals without the intent to win being are the forefront makes zero sense. Again, 'fun' is different for everyone, but you're going to tell me I'm 'sweaty' for just trying to win in a Competitive game? Quickplay isn't fun, but neither is Ranked. Ranked just has expectations that are met more often, where as Quickplay trends towards people playing worse and getting angry over being simply spoke to about it. Say, calling out someone on your backline as a healer, then being upset that no one helped when you informed them.
Plus, at least for me, the moment you play Ranked it feels like your Quickplay matches for a game either have pubstumps for you or pubstomps for the enemy. I hate pure pubstomps in casual.
So me and my friends login to chill and screw around in quickplay but we get matched up against grandmaster+ 6 stacks that are absolutely sweating their asses off.
Meanwhile, I queue for ranked and I get matched against people (mostly) in my skill level range so matches don't feel so one sided. I don't even care about the rank at this point, the experience is just much higher quality.
EDIT: There is also a big mentality among a lot of players that because it's quickplay, it doesn't matter if they play terribly or do stupid things. I think that's fine if you're in a full premade group, or playing bots, but if you queue up to match with other people, you are wasting other people's time because you want to learn spiderman but you're going 0/18.
There are many people who play quickplay to have a lower stress game so they dont have to worry about ranked, but they still want to win of course.
I personally like it because it isn't as goofy as QM and I only really use QM to practice new characters.
Rarely ever play against bots, only when i go on a losing streak, which is rare. Either way still more fun.
Rarely play against bots, that is only for people on losing streaks.
Goofy is always more fun than sweaty try hards only caring about winning, and screaming at each other. lol
