Not all of us are that way though. Some of us do understand that it's just a game and there's more important things to do than be petty about a loss.
Losing is how you improve...
My post was not about close games, might want to double check what I said. Perhaps you aren't familiar with Rocket League, but being down 3 points with one minute left is a huge deficit. As an example in rivals, there was a match in convoy the enemy steamrolled us on their push and ended with time left over. We then got spawn camped on our push until there was about 1.5 minutes left and finally got some traction. We completed all three points in OT, had a great hold in extra rounds, and ended up winning. When we were stuck in spawn when it was 3-0 on our attack, we had two teammates wanting to surrender.
Its more of a sports thing if we're honest. If you're taught to lose gracefully then you'll play to the end of regulation and actually make it a game. Its not fun to win if the other team gives up.
People who grew up playing sports have more practice in losing gracefully and don't give up and treat it like wasted time to play a game and lose. Thats actual loser thinking to think that theres no point in playing a consequence free game to completion, Learning how to play while behind is an important skill in all competitive scenes and can only be worked on while getting beat. If you give up all the time instead of playing it out you'll be a much much worse player from it (and lose more games because you'll give up faster as you normalize it)
