Depends on their mental state, how they've been raised etc., younger people tend to have stronger emotions when they win/lose.
So you can report and walk away, pointless to waste another thought on them.
It's also funny that people still get triggered by words, I stopped caring.

The original Batman DID kill, then that got stopped because Caspy's daddy was reading them and little Caspy got interested in comics. And that's why the Flashpoint Batman references what Batman ORIGINALLY was.
Then the violence stopped being so brutal, the jokes came in hard and the storylines got less dark.

Muting this kind of player and moving on is the correct (and pretty much only) answer. Make sure to report the behavior if it crosses the line from immature to inappropriate.
When someone says something toxic in chat I'll usually respond with positivity, even if it is not well received. I like to tell people to not give up, or to keep trying, especially when the enemy team is frustrated and losing hard. The amount of comebacks I've seen in this game is insane. Or in the rare instance that someone says something like "Magik diff" (I play Magik a lot), I just tell them that they did really well.
