captain america shield while jumping?

why in the world can captain america not raise his shield while jumping in the air? there are certain ways this could enhance the gameplay. captain can block and reflect iron man's maximum pulse back at him, reflect projectiles while jumping to prevent damage for better combat engagement... let me raise the shield in the air...
