Crazy long queue times in doom match?

I've started noticing that when I start up the game and go into doom match the estimated wait time is like, 15 to 20 minutes. I wait for maybe 3 minutes which for me is too long. I go into qp and get the classic instant match found. Then afterwards doom match wait time is a couple seconds again. Anyone else had this? What's up with that?
