Which character is the best at countering Jeff?
It's not that Jeff is particularly good, or countering him is a particularly viable way to win, or anything like that. It's just the ult. It's extremely frustrating to get thrown off a cliff over and over again during a match.

Anyways, after a particularly egregious round of this, I'm wondering who I can switch to, to make Jeff's life as miserable as he makes mine. Who hunts down and kills the shark the most effectively? He's got so many escapes that he's functionally impossible to kill for half the roster.

I'm guessing Psylocke, but it could be Magik or Panther as well.

Anyone that can deal damage hard and fast can kill him quickly. He has a lot of self presevation tools at his disposal though. Particular the Bubbles, which self heal and increase movement speed, as well as his ability to dive under ground, increased movement speed, wall climb ability and health regeneration.

Why I use him in Doom Matches because he's incredibly effective at hit and run tactics for stealing kills then running before I die. Most characters can't even keep up with me.

Hela, Hawkeye, Psylock, Witch can assassinate him. He can escape fast so the kill has to be quick. Or just Moonlight focus him.

He doesn't need to be countered almost every hero can block that ult. For a lot of heroes you can just sit in it.

Punisher - Drop turret for instance.

I get that, but I play a lot on Mantis and she can't do anything to counter it, so I get a lot of Jeff-hate built up I need to get rid of.

Squirrel Girl is hands down the best counter against Jeff.

Everytime I see her as Jeff it means swap to something else. I am not afraid of Psylocke, Hawkeye, Hela, Punisher. Moonknight and Scarlet Witch dont need to aim but I can just burrow away becasue their damage is Mid (also... destroy ankh).

Magneto (shields and a high health pool to counter), Thor, Hawkeye (long range with bow and arrow), Psylocke, punisher (Deliverance not need any introduction it explains itself and win fights too), Storm (Just use bolt rush), Loki and finally
other people who play jeff and have the high / advantage ground.

Peni. Web stuns and you can drop mines in the AOE of his ult and he will swallow them and blow up.

people seem to forget the biggest counter, strange. as a strange semi-onetrick, its harder to miss then hit, he gets melted and if he dosent catch you with his ult, he would never reach the cliff

Anything with mobility to get away from it in the second or so you have before a player can snap up anyone. Punisher's zipline and grenade have both saved me from being gobbled.

He now has to run away or is dead
If he shoots you, dodge, you fly
He can't do ****

Like others have said. And as for being thrown off the cliff, anyone that can fly, teleport, or double jump can avoid that. So Strange, Magik, Hela, Squirrel girl, Sue, IronMan...
etc. A lot of them. Sometimes levitate only characters like Magneto too.

I'm primarily a Luna player so I don't know a good way to deal with his ult either. And in a 1v1 it can go either way.
