New Hero / Villian Ideas
Lets be honest when it comes to ideas on a Hero / Villain there are a lot to choose from, the main problem is coming up with said character that works within this game, we have some good characters already but lately I've been thinking a lot about marvel characters and a few in particular come to mind. For example A Marvel Villain by the name of Juggernaut would be great addition. Juggernaut would make a perfect tank with the ability kind of like the hulks but without the turning back into a low ball DPS. Juggernauts abilities could range from ultra smash that shakes the ground causing craters in the ground (Not permanent) his main moves being like hulk just hitting constantly, Health would be more than hulks given the fact of his abilities and armor. I'm not saying he should be indestructible but harder to take out rather than other Tanks. And maybe add a move where he picks up a piece of the ground or barrier and can throw it at people. Another great character I think should be added is DeadPool. People love DeadPool but the question is how do you put him into a game where he isn't OP because his power is just not to die, regenerating every cell in his body from a tiny baby to a full grown adult. The answer to that is don't DeadPool is already cool enough using guns / Blades / and flipping around like SpiderMan. while that can be his main fighting style lets think about what his main ability could be and my thought to utilize his main ability while also still giving him that DeadPool Feel Is allow him to shoot Stab Slice and Dice while kinda being invulnerable but slow. So while he can't be killed in this state it can still be easily to survive as long as you are not caught in his field of bullets and barrages. This is obviously just a suggestion and can be tweaked so it doesn't sound to crazy but we Really need a DP. It's just not Marvel without some of these Heroes. Let me know what everyone thinks or if they just have some additions that could be added. Lets also get some more ideas with abilities in here so just in case the developers ever wonder what to add next. X- Force Forever!

Juggernaut would be a tank that would need to play like Wolverine in a sense. The more momentum he has, the harder he is to stop so he would need to start slow and get fast. Could be very fun. I'm afraid they'll add Nightcrawler at some point only because of how obnoxious his teleportation would be.

Ares - Vanguard
Ares, the God of War, storms into Marvel Rivals with divine fury, summoning mythic weapons to dominate the battlefield. His War Manipulation powers inspire allies with buffs or cripple enemies with debuffs when summoning weapons or activating key abilities. By default, he wields a Battle Axe and a heavy pistol with Hydra Blood Bullets, delivering swings, shots, or parries with lethal precision. Summoned weapons replace both defaults via Weapon Swap, allowing Ares to adapt his arsenal and turn every fight into a brutal epic of war.

Playstyle
Ares is a frontline juggernaut, wielding his default Battle Axe-pistol pair to cleave, shoot, and dominate with tactical precision. Summoned weapons (Great Axe, Spear and Shield, Gatling Gun) replace both defaults via Weapon Swap, offering specialized roles: Great Axe for heavy damage and crowd control, Spear and Shield for defense and disruption, and Gatling Gun for sustained firepower with spell field crowd control. His E (Impending Victory) and F (Siegebreaker) provide team-wide buffs (speed, damage, health) while debuffing enemies (Fear, Doubt). Shift (War Stance) toggles between Offensive mode for standard attacks and Defensive mode, where holding Secondary raises the weapon for resilience and modified Primary actions (e.g., pausing pistol shots, single-target chops, spear throws, or overwhelming barrages). The Ultimate (Onslaught) delivers relentless damage but requires ammo and heat management via the overheat bar. Ares excels in leading assaults, soaking damage, and swinging teamfights with War Cry.

Role Vanguard (excels as a frontline tank, with Duelist aggression and Initiator crowd control)

Weapon-Swapping Mechanic
Ares switches between his default weapon pair (Battle Axe and heavy pistol) and a summoned weapon using a Weapon Swap keybind:

Weapons Swap Key: Equips the current summoned weapon (Great Axe, Spear and Shield, or Gatling Gun), replacing both the Battle Axe and pistol. Reverts to the default Battle Axe-pistol pair.
Default State: Starts with the Battle Axe and pistol pair (Primary fires pistol, Secondary swings Battle Axe).
Summoned Weapons: Replace both Battle Axe and pistol when summoned via abilities (E, F, or Ultimate). Only one summoned weapon is active at a time.
Cooldown: No cooldown for swapping, but summoning new weapons via abilities has specific cooldowns.

Abilities
Primary: Weapon Strike
Ares’ Primary attack changes based on his current equipped weapon and War Stance mode (Offensive or Defensive).

Default Pair: Heavy Pistol (Hydra Blood Bullets) - Envenom Fire (Offensive/Defensive)Fires a 3-shot burst (20m range, falloff to 60% at 40m, 2.5 rounds/sec), each shot dealing 65 damage. Applies Corrosion (10 damage over 4s, unhealable, refreshes on subsequent bursts).

Consumes: Up to 3 ammo.

Default Pair: Heavy Pistol - Flicker Envenom Fire (Defensive; Hold)While holding Secondary, fires Envenom Fire (same stats: 20m range, falloff to 60% at 40m, 2.5 rounds/sec, 65 damage, Corrosion), but pauses for 0.8s when the Battle Axe parries an attack (every 0.8s).

Consumes: Up to 3 ammo. No additional stamina cost.
Flavor: “Block and sting—war’s rhythm!”


Great Axe (F) - Furious Cleave (Offensive/Defensive)Swings Great Axe in a wide cleaving arc (7m range, 120-degree cone), dealing 70 damage to all enemies hit. Applies Heal Reduction (reduces incoming heals by 30% for 4s). Slows Ares’ movement by 10% during wind-up (0.5s).

Great Axe (F) - Skullsplitter (Offensive)Performs a two-part single overhead chop:

First Hit: Targets a single enemy (6.5m range), dealing 70 damage. Applies Heal Reduction (reduces incoming heals by 30% for 4s) and knocks down the enemy.
Second Hit: Slams Great Axe into the ground (capsule-shaped AoE, 5m wide, 16m long), dealing no damage. Applies Tremor (enemies stagger, are pushed left/right if grazed, and have abilities interrupted; first enemy hit directly is knocked back and knocked down).
Cooldown: 8s.
Slows: Ares’ movement by 10% during wind-up (0.5s).
Flavor: “The earth quakes at my wrath!”


Great Axe (F) - Defensive Guard (Defensive)Hold Secondary to brace the Great Axe, reducing melee damage by 70% and ranged by 30% (every 0.8s). Reduces frontal melee launch/knockback by half.

Drains: 8 stamina/sec while holding.
Flavor: “My axe defies all blows!”


Spear and Shield (E) - Shield Pummel (Offensive)Performs a Shield Bash (6.5m range, single target), dealing 30 damage and interrupting enemy abilities (e.g., channels, wind-ups). Shield absorbs 50 frontal damage for 0.8s.

Shift: War Stance
Ares toggles between Offensive and Defensive modes, altering his Primary and Secondary abilities to emphasize aggression or resilience.

Toggle: Press Shift to cycle between Offensive and Defensive modes (instant, no cooldown). Works on tap or hold, cycling Offensive → Defensive → Offensive.
Offensive Mode:
Primary: Standard Primary abilities (Envenom Fire, Furious Cleave, Spear Gouge, Despotize Assault).
Secondary: Standard Secondary abilities (Vicious Hack, Skullsplitter, Shield Pummel, Oppressing Barrage).


Defensive Mode:
Secondary (Hold): Raises the weapon, providing weapon-specific defensive benefits. Drains 8 stamina/sec. Releasing Secondary ends the stance with a 0.1s buffer to prevent accidental Offensive Secondary triggers.
Primary (Press/Hold): Triggers modified actions while holding Secondary, distinct from standard Primary abilities. No additional stamina cost.
Note: While not holding Secondary, Defensive Mode Primary functions as in Offensive Mode.


Stamina: 100 max, drains 8/sec while holding Secondary in Defensive mode, regenerates 20/sec when not active. Offensive mode has no stamina cost.
Feedback: Offensive mode triggers a red aura and war cry; Defensive mode triggers a golden glow and shield clank. Modified Primary actions show unique visuals (e.g., sparks for Furious Chop, spear trail for Spear Throw).
Visual: Ares shifts posture (aggressive in Offensive, guarded in Defensive).
Flavor: “War bends to my will—strike or stand!”

E: Impending Victory – Spear and Shield
Ares summons a spear and shield, bellowing a Rally Cry to fortify himself and allies.

Summon: Equips Spear and Shield, replacing both Battle Axe and pistol (accessed via Weapon Swap). Shield grants +10% damage resistance while equipped.
Rally Cry:
Allies (10m radius): Gain +100 temporary HP (decays over 10s) and +25% healing received for 6s.
Enemies (10m radius): Suffer Doubt (lose 15% ability cooldown reduction for 4s).


Phalanx Stance (Equip Activation): If Spear and Shield is equipped, activating E again triggers:
Allies (8m radius): Gain a personal Barrier (absorbs 50 damage for 3s). Each ally with an active Barrier grants all allies +5% damage resistance, stacking up to 5 times (25% max).


Automatic Swap: If not equipped with Spear and Shield when re-activating E, Ares equips it before performing Phalanx Stance.
War Manipulation: Activating (Summon or Phalanx Stance) triggers Rally Cry.
Cooldown: 15s.
Visual: Ares slams his spear into the ground, shield glowing gold as a war horn sounds.

F: Siegebreaker – Great Axe
Ares summons a massive Great Axe and bellows a Battle Cry, boosting himself and allies.

Summon: Equips Great Axe, replacing both Battle Axe and pistol (accessed via Weapon Swap).
Battle Cry:
Allies (10m radius): Gain +20% movement speed and +15% ability damage for 6s.
Enemies (10m radius): Suffer Fear (lose 10% damage output for 4s).


Whirlwind (Equip Activation): If Great Axe is equipped, activating F again triggers:
Whirlwind Attack: Spins for 2s (3m radius), dealing 80 damage/sec (160 total) to enemies. Ares moves at 50% normal speed during spin.
Battle Cry: Same effects as initial activation.


Automatic Swap: If not equipped with Great Axe when re-activating F, Ares equips it before performing Whirlwind Attack and Battle Cry.

Ares summons a 200-ammo gatling gun, entering a persistent ultimate state with spell field effects, lasting until another weapon is summoned or he is killed.

Summon: Equips Gatling Gun, replacing both Battle Axe and pistol (accessed via Weapon Swap).

Damage: 12 damage per round
Fire Rate: 12.5 rounds/sec (150 DPS)
Range: 20m (70% damage at 40m)
Casting: Projectiles create a spell field on impact (1m radius, 0.5s), applying:
Suppression: 10% attack speed reduction for 2s (refreshes on hit).
Overwhelm: 15% movement speed reduction for 3s (refreshes on hit).


Crosshair Spread Radius (at 10m): Starts at 0.2m, reduces to 0.1m after 10 shots, further decreases to 0.05m after 20 shots.
Movement Penalty: Reduces Ares’ movement speed by 30% (to 4.2 m/s) while firing Primary or Secondary.


Reload: 2.5s to reload 50 ammo (can be interrupted).
Overheat:
Timer: After 6s of continuous fire (12s in Defensive mode), gun overheats, locking Primary and Secondary for 3s.
Overheat Bar: UI element (0–100%):
Fills at 16.67% per second of continuous fire (6s to overheat).
In Defensive mode, fills at 8.33% per second (12s to overheat).
Flashes red on overheat, resets to 0% after 3s lockout.
Partial cooling: Decreases at 25% per second when not firing.




Persistence: Remains active until another weapon is summoned (via E or F) or Ares is killed. If killed, respawns with default Battle Axe-pistol pair. Ultimate charge resumes normally.
Ultimate Charge: Generates 25% of standard ultimate charge rate while active (e.g., 25 charge points/sec if standard abilities generate 100/sec). Requires ~165s of active combat to fully charge.
War Cry:
Allies (15m radius): Gain +10% attack speed and -10% ability cooldowns for 8s.
Enemies (15m radius): Suffer Despair (lose 20% healing received for 6s).


Onslaught Barrage (Equip Activation): If Gatling Gun is equipped, activating Ultimate again triggers:
Mechanics: Shots auto-lock onto targets within 25m range and 30-degree cone for 3s, dealing Primary damage (150 DPS, applies Suppression and Overwhelm via spell fields).
Consumes: 50 ammo.
War Cry: Same effects as initial activation.
Automatic Swap: If not equipped with Gatling Gun, equips it before performing Onslaught Barrage.


Drawbacks:
Reload: 2.5s for 50 ammo.
Overheat: Locks abilities for 3s.
Movement Penalty: 30% speed reduction while firing.
Charge Cost: High (~2-3 minutes).


Visual: Ares hefts a massive gatling gun, barrels glowing red as war drums pulse. Spell fields appear as crimson zones on impact. Overheat bar is a glowing red meter above the weapon UI, flashing when nearing overheat. Onslaught Barrage shows targeting reticles locking onto enemies with a fiery glow.
Flavor: “This is war’s true face—unrelenting and merciless, with fields of despair that crush all hope!”
