Does anyone experience a bunch of lag while Near/Entering Dr Stange Portals? (And is there any way to fix it?)

At least I'm pretty sure it's the Dr Strange portals since I always lag while entering/near them in other gamemodes and Doom Match is just unplayably laggy for me, I Need to get 50 kills there for my event quest though so I'm hoping you guys know any settings graphics changes or something I can make to fix it.

the only thing i can think of is maybe change the effect quality? as far as i know, the performance issues are due to how the portal is programmed to work the way it does, so changing the effect quality might not do much
