It would be fair compared to Hawkeye, but I think this whole sniper design sucks.
I don't care if it takes skill, there shouldn't be primary attacks that can oneshot you.

No character should be able to oneshot. And hawkeye charged arrow should be nerfed down to 249 damage.

The only reason hawkeye is perma banned is because he can oneshot supports and dps. No other character in the game can do that outside of ultimates.

Some do well with her already but thats like wolverine in my opinion, sure you can take out a tank but so can you with other more reliable characters. So a buff would be nice, however one taps are just ass design by nature.

What I think would be fair is some team utility like applying marks. Imagine any shot you make with her that connects applies a mark for like 5-10 seconds that makes the target take like lets say 20-30% more damage from all sources. This way she can't one tap but can make her more useful for team over all. How about that mark also makes target visible through walls for everyone? That be cool.

I think it is fair to consider she still need some work. I don't know if one shot is the way to go, but, considering it seems like their idea of her is to be able to combo her mobility and kicks, they should certainly consider giving her either free sprint (like soldier in OW) or even less of cooldown on her mobility AND less cooldown on her kicks. Considering you are aiming down sights it is way too easy to be harassed by flanks. I can kill one of them, but they just need to have 2 in order to be impossible to use her when you almost always have to deal with them by yourself.

TBH they should have given her dual pistols instead of batons (She uses these in the comics/movies all the time). She cannot win any melee fight in the game against any other character, making them essentially useless unless you get the jump on someone who isn't paying attention. This basically makes her PURELY a sniper, which then forces people into only using that weapon, so they get upset when that weapon under performs. Being able to weaken enemies with pistol shots then hitting them with a rifle shot if they try to flee feels like it would be much better for her overall, wouldn't require her to 1 tap anyone, and wouldn't make her secondary weapon completely pointless.

They can't do that because that would make the character completely broken. Anyone with decent aim would be ko'ing duelist left and right and matches would be about who has the sneakiest BW.

IMO, her kit is terrible, she should be redesigned to be somewhat of a middle range character, walk around with two pistols, as in the movies, use her ranged taser as CC, and keep a couple melee moves.

No one enjoys being one shot by a basic attack. It is what makes Sniper in tf2 unfun as well as Widow in ow2.

I don't think any hero being able to 1-shot 250 hp people in the head with primary attack is healthy for the game. Especially not heroes that are firing from a very safe range.

I do think she needs help, but I don't think that's the buff I would go with.

one-shot snipers are a bad archetype for any game. Widow is what all snipers should aspire to be balanced like.

Even if we all agree Widow needs a buff, she should not gain even a single point of damage, and if she ever gets a seasonal stat bonus it should not be damage.

Hawkeye should be nerfed so that he can no longer one-shot anyone (except Banner obv). I think he should be reworked to reward landing multiple shots in succession more than anything, but that's not the point of the thread.
