So tired of broken ultimates

Most ults in this game are just ridiculous. I'm so tired of them. An ultimate should just give you a boost, an extra edge, it shouldn't be a free team wipe that no one can do anything about. On the DPS side too many ults just give you free kills for just pressing a button and on the healer side it heals so much that I've seen people combine ults for more damage (like Groot and Psylocke ult) and nothing will die because healer ults just outheal the damage. They need to balance ults, they shouldn't be free kills that no one can do anything to defend themselves from or can counter them. Either nerf ults or make it take longer to get them. This game should rely more on skill rather than who can charge their team-wipe ult faster.

A lot of top 500 players say the same thing, that support ults are broken when coordinated. only thing you can really do is hope an iron man hits his ult to counter it. but at the top level people interrupt and stop your ult very quickly. You are correct. and your IQ of the game is good, Defensive ults are the bread and butter of winning games. They just are, they are the best ults in the game and they are the deciding factors a lot of the time on who wins or loses.

Thanks, was just honestly trying to give some deserved validation to the OP, cause of course all initial replies wanna act like it's all in skill and game is perfectly balanced or something, which we both know it's not. Basically I think he has a point. Just cause I can drop my defensive ult to negate most other ults does not mean ults are not broken.

There are lots of defensives or crowd control abilities that entirely stop ultimates.
Peni is the most oppressive with her 3 second cooldown stun.
You don't need another Ult for almost all of them. Just a regular old cooldown and teammates that are paying attention.

You are absolutely right and all these nerds disagreeing definitely rely on their ults to be anything close to competent in the game. its just ridiculous that characters like luna and mantis are pumping out their ults literally once a minute while you just have to sit there and wait for them to finish. in a 10 min match thats 2 whole min you cant secure kills at all because luna builds her ult so fast now, idk how devs thought this was healthy for the game. moonknights ult killing you before his sound cue is even halfway done now is also super broken, i've even had some matches where he doesn't even say the voice line (which most of the time is him dying while ulting), its just silent death from above. i thought the time it took to build ur ult was fine last season i hope we get some fixes soon

Some Ults can definitely use a nerfing but otherwise they're largely fine as is. The Time To Kill in this game can be ridiculous with all the healing flying so OP abilities that bring ruin with a single button press make sense.

they should make ults build slower so that seeing even a decent player use it more than twice in a single match is alot less common.
