Should Peter Parker be a Hit and Run Assassin?
So I don't want to pretend Spider-Man isn't fast and agile, he 100% is, but I've never seen him as a hit and run assassin type. Spider-Man is the type to quickly get to the fight, and then stay in it until it's over.

Additionally, his webs should CC not damage. His webs have never been portrayed as harmful or lethal. That's a Miles Morales thing with his electric webbing. Parker's have always been used for CC.

In general, I feel like the Spider-Man playstyle we currently have is more suited for Miles Morales than Peter Parker.

What do you guys think?

You're completely wrong. That comes from knowing nothing but what Marvel movies and TV shows exhibit. Spider-Man has never been a stand-up brawler, and hit and run is literally all he does unless he vastly out-strengths an opponent. And even then, he's pretty cautious and carefully controls the battle.

First of all, how dare you. Second of all, you got this backwards. Spider-man is portrayed as quick but not strong in Video games. Spider-Man: The Daily Bugle #1 Spider-Man holds up the Daily Bugle. or in Amazing Spider-Man #320 he throws a tank. I can't remember what issue is is, just that it's a Mcfarlane comic, but he literally -flicks- a train cart over. Meanwhile Toby McGuire barely holds back a monorail. In Comics: Only the Hulk (out of the avengers) can beat Spider-Man in raw strength. In the games and movies, even Cap American is probably stronger than him.

Spider-Man has always been portrayed in comics as someone who can brawl, but tries his best not to seriously hurt his villains. Spider-Man only hits and runs when staying around the person would actively hurt him or he's trying to bait them into chasing him. A lot of Spider-man comics is either him chasing after someone like Green Goblin or perform acts of extreme strength to save people.

It doesn't really matter, whatever they do someone will not like it, especially considering the theme of the game.

Not that MCU is the end-all be-all for any superhero related discussion, but a good example of Spider-Man as a “hit and run” character is in Civil War when Iron Man uses him mostly as a distraction during the airport fight.

Worth mentioning in that same fight, he catches Bucky's punch and inspects his arm as if there's no force behind it at all, gets tackled by Wilson in flight a second later and almost instantly he breaks the flying tackle.

This is a pretty fair point. If they went brawler duelist like Iron Fist, people would complain that he's not like the Marvel's Spider-Man games which are neither written by or made by Marvel, but are officially endorsed and popular enough to have to be considered in something like this.

The character is only as strong as the writer or story needs him to be. For me the Sam Raimi version was the most grounded overall. Way stronger than the average joe and used his webs a lot. MCU focused too much on gadgets. Comics wise it's all over the place. In the original run of Amazing he could at best lift about a truck or so. He lost a lot of fights against rather weak folks and he was weaker than many heroes at the time. That was the charm, he had it rough. Had to be clever and use science and planning. So yes, having Spider-man as a hit & run fighter makes sense.

I mean Spiderman is way stronger than people generally think, that is part of his powers, but reality of video game right, otherwise Hulk and Wolverine should just be unstoppable regeneration beasts lol.

Comic book lore has little impact on video game balance and logic. Wolverine smashes Magneto.
